Interior
The main deck is extremely impressive, with its classic Sunseeker woodwork and huge floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views when out at sea. The dining area, with its beautiful backdrop and unique chandelier, caught attention as well.
The yacht's informal lounge area on the upper deck also caught attention. It features a full-size fridge, a dumbwaiter for easy food transportation, a day head, and a more informal lounge area with comfortable settees, a large TV, a bar, and a desk area.
Nick was equally impressed by the main deck master cabin, which he described as "palatial". He appreciated the spacious walk-in wardrobes, the views from the full beam of the boat, and the well-sized ensuite with a rainfall shower and his and hers sinks. He was similarly pleased with the guest accommodation on the lower deck, noting the high standard and the ability to convert the single beds into a proper double bed.
He was equally impressed with the bridge, the captain's domain, complete with its own cabin and state-of-the-art monitoring systems for all aspects of the boat.
On Deck
From the hydraulic bathing platfrom, there is a tender garage housing the Williams diesel jet tender and a jet ski. Stairs lead up to the main deck cockpit with a spacious seating area and shaded overhang.
The aft deck dining area, with its wide doors, large table, bar area, and electrically extending awning, also impressed. He was particularly taken by the sun deck above, with its sun beds, social area, bar, and Jacuzzi.
The boat's foredeck area was admired, highlighting its usefulness when berthed stern-to for more privacy.
Crew Accommodation
The yacht's crew area, with its pantry, direct access to the dining area, and well-equipped galley, was highly praised. He was also pleased with the crew's own mess area, cabin, and ensuite, all of which he thought were of a high standard.
Performance
The engineering area is full height, with its twin MTU 12V 4000 engines capable of speeds in excess of 20 knots and a range of nearly 1,500 miles.
In Summary
Overall, the Sunseeker 131 Yacht left Nick in awe of its luxury, functionality, and high standard of finish. It was indeed, in his words, "an absolutely magnificent piece of kit" and "a real honor to have a look around".
