The Westport 112 is a fast-cruising, crew-operated pilothouse yacht with a semi-displacement hull and shaft drive propulsion delivering a 26-knot top speed and cruising at around 20-24knots. Intended for serious cruising, the Westport 112 has a conventional flybridge deck and four-cabin layout, with all accommodation on the lower deck.

Performance

The Westport 112 and Horizon P110 have semi-displacement hulls with shaftdrive propulsion, offering good stability, a smooth ride and useful fast cruising speeds. The Westport enjoys the larger engine power options and fuel tank capacity and so it achieves a higher 26knot top-speed and longer 2000nm range, compared to the Horizon’s 20knot top speed.

Interior

The main salon design on these two yacht is very similar, with the galleys offering an interesting take on onboard living. Conventionally, the lounge leads to a dining area with separate galleys forward, but with no main deck Owner’s cabins the galleys can stretch into open, social designs that include mini lounges or breakfast area.

Accommodation

As older designs, neither yacht offers a main deck Owner’s cabin, with all sleeping quarters on the lower deck. The Westport has its Owner’s cabin slightly forward, with the Horizon’s amidships. Both yachts have full beam en-suites with his and hers layouts.

Helm Station

As pilothouse designs, both yachts offer impressive internal helm stations with broad helm consoles and space for guest seating. The Westport 112’s separate pilothouse is impressively large with room for a proper navigator’s position with a desk and space for charts and MFDs. The Horizon P110’s inner helm forms part of an upper lounge, so it feels very spacious with the nearby lounge seating allowing guests to get involved in the passage if they want, The upper helm stations offer two or three helm seats, the elevated Horizon design feeling more dedicated to driving.

Deck Areas

There is very little to separate these two yachts on the main deck, both offer a social aft deck with a dining table and bar. The side decks are wide, deep and safe with a protective overhand. The main differences are found above, with the Horizon enjoying a private upper deck, aft of the pilothouse.

Flybridge

The Westport’s conventional flybridge design has a lounge, bar and galley area forward with space left aft for either sun loungers or tender stowage, launch and recovery. The Horizon’s Tri-deck design creates a smaller flybridge, albeit with space for a Jacuzzi. The main social deck runs aft of the pilothouse, with an inner lounge leading to a private deck with seating, sunpads and a wet bar.

Compare Layouts

Both yachts mix pilothouse and flybridge design but deliver it different ways. The Westport 112 goes for a traditional flybridge design with the driving position leading to a dining and lounge area, wet bar and clear aft deck. The Horizon P110 offers three decks with a smaller flybridge perched above a pilothouse deck that stretches further back. Regardless of these designs differences, you end up with a very similar amount of deck space.

Although both yachts are four-cabin, they have different layouts with the Westport creating a forward VIP with its own private entrance off the galley.
