Conceived primarily as an upgrade path for Z44 owners who want more living space on board while preserving all of the smaller yacht’s highly desirable handling and manoeuvring capabilities, the Z55 basically offers a lot more of the same – which is a very good thing indeed. But while the concept has been simply scaled up, the underwater part of the hull has been very carefully optimised with extensive CFD (computational fluid dynamics) modelling to make sure that it delivers the best possible seakeeping, ride quality, handling, and performance. The 55ft (16.8m) length and 16ft 4in (5m) beam of the Z55 are calculated to allow easy handling without a professional crew and to ensure a reasonable availability of suitable parking spaces in harbours and marinas, where larger yachts often struggle to find a berth. One notable feature is the nicely engineered, side-opening tender garage – especially useful in cruising grounds where harbours and anchorages are shallow, or excessively busy, as you can anchor off and quickly launch the tender to get ashore. The main deck accommodation gives pride of place to a raised, two-seater helm console that offers a commanding 360-degree view, with seats that swivel round to join the L-shaped settee that wraps around the salon’s large dining table. Wherever you sit, there’s a great view out. Further aft, a stylish yet practical galley that’s designed to be used at sea separates the salon from the cockpit, where there’s a four-seater bar and a further circle of comfortable seats around a table for outdoor lounging and dining. Down below, there’s an impressive master cabin and an almost equally plush VIP guest cabin, both with en suite heads and shower, plus a smaller cabin for guests or crew with two bunk beds.

From The Manufacturer
After the critically acclaimed Z44, the obvious direction for Zeelander Yachts was to develop a larger model to accentuate its very best elements. The Z55 is nearly 30% larger than its smaller sibling, giving the owner more space both above and below decks in which to enjoy this exceptional yacht.
Whilst cutting through the waves experiencing Zeelander’s famous comfortable ride quality, you can enjoy the renowned 360° view from the wheelhouse. The extended deck area includes a wet bar with four bar stools with the raised seating area behind the helm comfortably seating eight people under a sunroof to further enhance your cruising experience. Further aft, guests can enjoy the spacious casual relaxation area that can be converted into a sumptuous full outdoor dining or sunbathing area. The unique use of space also includes a midships tender garage and swim platform plus side access doors for use when mooring at the quayside.
Together with Zeelander’s pioneering noise and vibration control technology, the Z55 also offers Seakeeper Active Gyro Stabilizer technology and the Volvo Penta Glass Bridge Cockpit system, together with the Volvo IPS Dynamic Positioning System to further enhance the cruising experience.
The Z55 truly offers a unique and unrivalled yachting experience.
