Carl Richardson

Carl is a writer, editor, presenter and content creator specialising in yachting as well as men’s luxury. A former magazine editor, Carl has amassed some 20 years of hands-on experience with motorboats, testing over 350 models.

Having hosted the Motorboat of the Year Awards for many years, Carl has also sat on numerous judging panels and worked with various boat builders in model and brand development and marketing. His journalistic experience includes articles for The Times and Sunday Times, Telegraph and Tatler.

More recently, Carl has worked in the superyacht sector, he says this hasn’t changed him at all, although this biography was written by his deputy third assistant.

As well as writing about and working with yachts, Carl is also quite keen on playing with them. An RYA Yachtmaster, his experience includes multiple UK-to-Med voyages, a circumnavigation of Australia and he can sometimes be seen bouncing around the Solent if the weather is appropriate. He has owned several boats, including a mahogany-built classic, which he loved but wouldn’t wish on his worst enemy.
