Design & Construction
Designed around a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure she features a 14.3m (46.9ft) beam and a 4.2m (13.7ft) draft. The yacht is built over six decks with an internal volume of 2,998 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
The yacht's silhouette is characterized by a midnight-blue hull paired with an ice-white superstructure, a color scheme applied with precision by Pinmar's expert use of electrostatic paint guns.
Aquila's sun deck introduces a beach club atmosphere at a higher elevation, optimizing the space for social gatherings. Features include a pool positioned on the forward section of the deck, flanked by sun pads, a bar, and a sofa. The aft section boasts a backlit bar, central seating, and loungers, with an added step to enhance the deck's spatial dynamics.
The bridge aft deck encourages outdoor living, with teak pillars and modern, low-profile furniture arrangements that include circular seating around a fire pit. Broad glass at the entrance to the bridge-deck salon, allows natural light to flood the interior and bridge the connection between the yacht's indoor and outdoor environments.
The tender garage, which opens on both sides, is a key feature of the lower deck. The beach club aft includes a skylight and access that does not compromise the area's functionality or aesthetic.
Interior Design
The interior is adorned with smoked eucalyptus woodwork, taupe suede, and blue and grey velvets, crafting a sophisticated modern aesthetic. Warm nickel hardware was specifically selected to enhance the overall ambiance.
Accommodation
The main deck accommodates six guest suites, along with a supernumerary cabin designed for the owner's staff and security team. Accessible through the starboard foyer, each suite features unique color schemes and opens off the centerline corridor, spanning an impressive length of 18 meters (59 feet).
The owner's deck, situated between the main and bridge decks, offers a grand entrance hall in grey veined marble with leather panels, setting the tone for the private seven-room suite. This exclusive space includes a gymnasium and a yoga studio that easily converts to a beauty salon and massage room. The suite comprises two bathrooms, two dressing rooms, a full-beam sitting room, and a study. The bedroom itself, with a canopied king-size bed, is strategically oriented with windows that provide a breathtaking 180-degree panoramic view.
There are 26 crew onboard to ensure operational effectiveness and a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M71) 16-cylinder 3,306hp engines running at 2000rpm, motor yacht Aquila is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. With her 97,744 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles at 15 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
Leisure & Entertainment
At the opposite end of the main deck from the guest quarters, the primary outdoor dining area is located, designed to seat 16 guests at one large table. Additionally, three smaller tables offer a combination of fixed and loose seating. The service bar for this outdoor dining space is conveniently located within the salon, which doubles as the yacht's cinema.
The cinema, featuring a generous 98-inch screen, is ingeniously enclosed in a floating box for optimal protection against sound and vibration from the yacht. Special consideration is given to the acoustics to ensure a premium movie experience, with a professional grade 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos surround system of seven in-wall Genelec speakers and four overhead speakers, plus two Artcoustic woofers with powerful 1k amplification, with a Creston control system. The heavy doors are with acoustic seals and special insulation in the bulkheads.
Amenities
The sun stairs showcase an impressive 11.2m (40ft) long chandelier crafted from 850 individually hand-blown glass pieces, that elegantly descends through all four decks.
Tenders
The lower deck has a spectacular tender garage, designed with openings on both sides, housing a Riva Aquariva and a Vikal Limousine tender.
The limousine tender was designed by Tim Heywood and won the 2010 ShowBoats Design Award.
