Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.45m beam and a 2.25m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 279 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in early 2020. This was the second yacht built on the SL120 Asymmetric design. She was delivered to her owners in June 2021.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of Blue Angel features a raked bow, emphasizing its aerodynamic profile and contributing to improved performance and efficiency. The deck, constructed from teak, offers durability and a classic maritime aesthetic. The hull and superstructure are both finished in white, providing a clean and contemporary appearance. The boot top and below the waterline areas are painted in black, creating a sharp contrast with the white upper sections. This color scheme ensures a sleek and timeless look, aligning with the yacht's functional and straightforward design ethos.
A prominent feature of Blue Angel's exterior is the sizable garage door and side hatches. These can open to form a three-sided, 45 square-meter beach club, offering guests an impressive view of the sea and additional space for leisure activities. Her expansive flybridge area is equipped with sofas, tables, and sun loungers, providing ample space for outdoor relaxation and socializing.
Blue Angels's multi-level deck layout includes an exterior living area adjacent to the separate dining area at the bow. This arrangement ensures easy access and flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, catering to both relaxation and entertainment needs.
Moving upwards, the flybridge is well-equipped with sunbathing space, a seating area, a cooking station for outdoor dining, and an additional alfresco dining area. There is also a television used for evening entertainment like karaoke. The helm station includes a side door leading to a short side deck, which provides direct access to a dual-level sunbathing and seating area.
Interior Design
Blue Angel features a well-appointed saloon that highlights sleek surfaces and a pale color palette. Bleached striped oak is used for both the walls and furniture, with smoked mirror coverings that provide a refined finish. The saloon is furnished with large Nuvola Canapa leather sofas, and full-height windows allow ample natural light to fill the space. The main saloon includes a bulkhead that opens to reveal a flat-screen television, and the furniture in this area is sourced from reputable design brands such as Minotti, Baxter, and Roda.
The dining area is located at the bow and connects seamlessly to the exterior living area. This separate space boasts the potential for conversion into a fifth stateroom, offering flexibility for additional guest accommodation or a comfortable area to unwind.
The galley is centrally located, marking a departure from traditional yacht layouts where the galley is often an afterthought. This placement allows for easy access from both the interior dining area and the exterior dining spaces. The galley is well-appointed with high-end appliances and plenty of counter space, making it suitable for preparing meals for both small gatherings and larger parties.
The helm station is designed with practicality in mind. It features a side door that leads to a short side deck, providing direct access to a dual-level sunbathing and seating area. This area is ideal for both relaxation and socializing, with ample space for guests to spread out and enjoy the surroundings.
An all-glass elevator connects the lower and main decks, facilitating easy movement between levels. This feature adds a contemporary touch.
Accommodation
Blue Angel provides accommodation for up to eight guests in four staterooms located on the lower deck.
The full-beam owner's suite is a standout feature, providing ample space and privacy. Located on the main deck, this suite is equipped with a beautifully appointed ensuite bathroom. The suite includes substantial storage space and a cleverly concealed television behind a mirrored bulkhead.
Below deck, Blue Angel features three additional staterooms: one double and two single cabins. The double guest cabin offers a comfortable double bed and an ensuite bathroom, ensuring a pleasant stay for guests. Each single cabin is designed with twin beds and includes an ensuite bathroom. Like the owner’s suite, these cabins also have plenty of storage and a concealed television behind mirrored bulkheads.
She is also capable of carrying up to five crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000 M96L) 16-cylinder 2,637hp engines, motor yacht Blue Angel is capable of reaching a top speed of 27 knots, and comfortably cruises at 23 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
