Design & Construction
Designed around a planing GRP hull and superstructure she features a 24'7" beam and a 5'3" draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 218 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the second yacht built on the AB 116 design.
Exterior Design
Five Waves features a deep-V planing hull configuration with a raked bow. This design choice supports the yacht's performance focus, allowing it to achieve impressive speeds with its three engines paired with water jets. The yacht features a gold paint job, which makes it stand out. Five Waves features ample deck space, providing several areas for lounging and sunbathing. Sunpads are strategically placed at the aft of the main deck and on the bridge deck. On the sun deck, the inclusion of a Jacuzzi enhances the outdoor experience.
The aft deck includes a swim platform and a tender garage capable of storing a tender and two additional jet skis. The platform lifts for easy access to the garage, highlighting the yacht's practicality. A small flybridge is also present, providing additional space for relaxation and navigation.
On the main deck, there is an alfresco dining area accompanied by substantial sun pads. The deck layout is functional, with stairs leading up to the flybridge and a bar area that services the aft deck. Powered glass doors allow access to the main salon, maintaining a streamlined look when closed.
The foredeck features additional storage for a jet ski and includes a crane for easy handling. A sun pad and U-shaped seating area are also present, offering space for leisure. The yacht’s side decks are deep, ensuring safety and comfort when moving around the exterior.
Interior Design
In the main salon, the open-plan layout emphasizes spaciousness, allowing for easy movement and interaction. The furnishings are thoughtfully arranged to maximize comfort and practicality, with ample natural light streaming in through large windows, enhancing the sense of space. Dark-toned wooden furnishings add a sophisticated touch, while expansive windows allow natural light to fill the space, creating a welcoming atmosphere for socializing. Neutral-colored flooring complements the dark wooden furnishings, creating a balanced and cohesive look.
The formal dining area, capable of seating up to ten guests, is integrated seamlessly into the overall design, with side access doors offering convenient movement to the foredeck.
The galley is positioned near the crew mess, designed for efficiency and practicality. Equipped with Miele appliances, it provides all the necessary facilities for meal preparation. The location of the galley allows the crew to work effectively without disturbing guests, maintaining the yacht's streamlined design approach.
The bridge area features a series of five screens, joystick, and throttle controls, ensuring precise navigation and operation. The design is straightforward, focusing on providing the captain with all necessary tools in an intuitive layout. A secondary helm position on the flybridge offers an alternative control point, maintaining the yacht's emphasis on high performance.
Accommodation
Five Waves accommodates up to 11 guests across six staterooms. Among these, the owner's suite is a full-beam room located at the aft of the yacht. This suite includes a king-sized bed, a settee, ample storage, and large windows that provide natural light, which can be covered for privacy. The suite is equipped with two separate ensuite facilities, each featuring stand-up showers, vanities, and a toilet with a bidet.
In addition to the owner's suite, the yacht has additional cabins that provide a mix of twin and single bed arrangements. These guest cabins are also accompanied by ensuite facilities, which include rainfall showers and toilets. Thoughtful touches, such as automatic lighting in the closets, enhance the guest experience.
For the crew, Five Waves accommodates up to six members in three dedicated cabins. The crew area includes a shared head with shower facilities and a crew mess adjacent to the galley, offering practical and convenient living arrangements while maintaining a high standard of finish.
