At 80.07 meters/ 265ft, Genesis, known throughout her build as Project Cosmos, secured its position as the world's largest and fastest all-aluminum motor yacht with a conventional propeller propulsion system upon her launch at the German shipyard Heesen in 2023. Renowned British studio Winch Design created the yacht's sleek exterior while Sinot Yacht Design created her interior.

Key Features

  • Fastest all-aluminum yacht when built
  • Helipad that transforms into an outdoor cinema
  • Seven metre glass bottomed pool
  • Patented 'Backbone' design
  • Crystal elevator from lower deck to sun deck
  • Beach club with a sunken walk-around bar

Design & Construction

Designed around a fast displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 13.4m beam and a 4.1m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 1,700 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.

Construction started in early 2019 with the keel laid under the project name 'Cosmos'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in November 2021 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in September 2023.

Exterior Design

The superstructure rises seamlessly from the waterline to the stern, in a single unbroken arch, extending into a lengthy foredeck, exuding a sense of forward momentum. Even the downward tilt of the smaller hard top over the upper deck evokes an arrowhead, enhancing the impression of speed. Wing-shaped designs on the mast further contribute to the dynamic aesthetic of the yacht.

The yacht's dynamic silhouette is accentuated by its long, unbroken lines, while the slender bow, coupled with a steeply raked stem, embodies the graceful design characteristic of Winch Design in collaboration with Heesen.

Interior Design

Drawing from the natural world, the interior design incorporates a beach club theme and classic contemporary elements, with hints of aqua blue highlighting the connection to the water throughout the wood, marble, and glasswork. Soft pastel blues create a soothing and comfortable ambiance in the owner's suite, enhancing the private space.

The use of scalloped forms in the crystal lighting panels, straw marquetry, and backlit onyx, in combination with leather, hardwood, stone, and polished metals, further enrich the space. The color palette ranges from the signature beach club aquamarine to a formal navy in the main salon. In the spa area, a blend of white onyx, white and blue marble, steel, and wood contributes to an inviting and serene atmosphere.

Accommodation

Genesis offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising an owners cabin located on the main deck, 1 VIP cabin and 4 double cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 19 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

The construction of build number YB19480 posed a significant challenge for the Heesen shipyard. With three decks, four engines boasting 19,000 horsepower, and the ability to reach 30 knots, with efficient cruising at a minimum of 20 knots, this yacht was poised to be a yacht like no other. Project Cosmos, at 80m, was to be the largest aluminum yacht ever built.

Choosing aluminum over steel resulted in a notable reduction in weight. In the case of Project Cosmos, this decision led to a weight savings of approximately 150 tonnes, which was estimated to increase the top speed by six to seven knots.

Hydrodynamically, the yacht is a direct descendant of two previous Heesen-built yachts that utilized the patented Van Oossanen's Fast Displacement Hull Form, making it a pioneering force in its class, unrivaled in hydrodynamic advancement.

Leisure & Entertainment

The yacht features a seven-meter pool equipped with contrajets for swimming, a waterfall, and a glass bottom, offering an exceptional aquatic experience. The luxurious beach club includes a sunken walk-around bar in back-lit onyx, a large transom, and side platforms, providing ample space for relaxation and entertainment.

Wellness

Onboard, a well-appointed spa and wellness center offer a serene escape for guests seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. The spa areas have been delicately designed using wood, marble, and onyx in white and blue, using natural light and soft colors to create a calming ambiance. The spa's design incorporates elements of nature, promoting a peaceful connection to the ocean surroundings and fostering a sense of tranquility.

Amenities

Among the remarkable features aboard Genesis, notable highlights include a fully-rated helicopter landing pad capable of transforming into an outdoor cinema. Aft of the helicopter landing circle, a pair of concealed corner sofas rise out of the deck to create a sumptuous relaxation zone and the best seats in the house in the open-air cinema screen that rises from the bow.

A crystal elevator facilitates accessibility from the lower deck to the sun deck.
