Piacere Yacht

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 28'10" beam and a 8' draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 498 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2019 with the keel laid under the project name 'LUX 49'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in June 2021 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in September 2021.

Exterior Design

Embodying the Italian essence of its name, which translates to 'pleasure', Piacere's design is an embodiment of functionality blended with timeless, minimalist aesthetics, poised to transcend the shifting tides of trend.

Bozzo's approach to Piacere's exterior is driven by the desire for scenic panoramas and an abundance of natural daylight. The yacht's generous use of glass in windows, bulwarks, and railings is not merely a design choice but a deliberate strategy to infuse the interior with brightness and offer unobstructed views of the sea.

The sundeck of Piacere is a highlight, carefully crafted to serve as an all-day living space. It boasts a luxurious spa pool and, shielded by a sleek glass windbreak, features a full-service bar and a spacious dining table situated beneath the protective embrace of a hardtop. This design consideration reflects the owners' fondness for outdoor living, ensuring that the amount of outdoor space available on this 50-metre yacht is remarkably expansive.

The yacht's exterior lines are thoughtfully grounded with a teak cap rail, a subtle yet striking detail conceptualized by Bozzo. This element not only accentuates the yacht's sleek profile but also harmonizes with the selection of teak and resin armchairs on the main deck aft, chosen by interior designer Enrico Gobbi. The synergy between Bozzo's exterior finesse and Gobbi's interior expertise is palpable, culminating in a cohesive aesthetic that's both luxurious and inviting.

The beach club further exemplifies Piacere's emphasis on outdoor enjoyment. This inviting area provides a seamless transition from the elegance of the yacht's interior to the tranquil waters that surround it, offering guests an exclusive and intimate connection with the sea.

Horacio Bozzo's dedication to creating adjustable and adaptive spaces is evident in the flybridge design. Here, sliding glass doors mounted on the foresection of the hardtop offer guests the flexibility to modulate their exposure to the elements, providing protection from the wind while still allowing for the open, airy ambiance that is so sought after in a flybridge experience.

Interior Design

The interior design of Piacere is a harmonious blend of functionality and timeless aesthetics, a true testament to the collaborative synergy between the owner's vision, designer Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design, and the meticulous craftsmanship of Rossinavi. Understanding the owner's lifestyle and preferences was paramount, as evidenced by the intimate involvement of the owner in the design process, inviting Rossi and Gobbi to his home to provide a personal insight into his family's tastes and living habits.

This deep familiarity is reflected in the choice of custom furnishings and materials throughout Piacere. Gobbi's selection of warm, classic walnut over more contemporary options ensures a lasting, elegant appeal, while the light color palette was chosen to counteract any potential fading from the abundant natural light that Horacio Bozzo's exterior design invites into the interior spaces.

Safety and durability were also critical considerations in the selection of materials, particularly to accommodate the needs of the owner's extended family, including children. The avoidance of delicate materials like onyx, the careful rounding off of corners, and the thoughtful placement of furnishings all serve to create a secure yet stylish environment.

The luxury of Piacere's interior is subtly expressed through high-end Italian design pieces from renowned firms such as Poliform and Minotti. Leather features prominently, adding a touch of understated opulence that is both durable and tactile, as seen in the meticulous lining of drawers and other fine details.

Throughout the vessel, the spaces are designed to invoke a sense of coziness and intimacy, with the main saloon serving as a prime example of a serene area for gatherings. Gobbi's choices blend seamlessly with the external design elements crafted by Bozzo, including teak and resin armchairs on the main deck aft that complement Bozzo's teak cap rail, grounding the exterior lines.

Textiles and fabrics were not an afterthought, with designer Gobbi incorporating luxurious materials from Rubelli and Armani/Casa, elevating the ambiance while maintaining the yacht's overarching theme of timeless elegance.

Accommodation

Piacere's accommodations provide ample space for up to twelve guests, ensuring a personal and intimate experience for each individual. The yacht houses six luxurious cabins, each crafted with the utmost attention to detail and designed to offer a tranquil retreat from the bustling activities of yacht life. The guest cabins are havens of serenity, boasting bespoke furnishings, sumptuous materials, and the finest Italian craftsmanship.

The owner's suite, an opulent sanctuary situated on the main deck, is a testament to Piacere's dedication to luxury. This full-beam stateroom indulges its occupants with unparalleled comfort and elegance, featuring a king-sized bed, a private lounge area, and expansive windows that allow for breathtaking views and an abundance of natural light.

Complementing the owner's suite are five additional guest cabins, each appointed with the same level of luxury and attention to detail. Guests can choose from the VIP staterooms and double cabins, all of which include en-suite facilities, ensuring privacy and convenience. Each cabin is an embodiment of contemporary design, with clean lines and a timeless aesthetic that evoke a sense of calm and relaxation.

In addition to the guest accommodations, Piacere is equipped to host a crew of nine to ensure seamless service and operation throughout the journey. The crew quarters have been thoughtfully designed to provide the ship's staff with the comfort and rest necessary to maintain the highest standards of service excellence.

Performance & Capabilities

Engineered with precision, Piacere is powered by twin Caterpillar (C32 ACERT) 12-cylinder 1,450hp engines designed to deliver an effortless cruising experience.

The yacht's top speed is 15 knots and her cruising speed of 12 knots is calibrated for comfort and efficiency, supporting extensive cruising itineraries that include ambitious journeys such as traversing the entire coast of California, from Baja to the north. This indicates a cruising speed that prioritizes range and fuel economy, while still allowing for a brisk pace when required. The inclusion of Suez and Panama Canal tonnage certificates further underscores Piacere's capability to undertake significant voyages across the globe.

Piacere’s range is a defining characteristic of its mechanical capabilities. The yacht has been conceived as a true long-range vessel. She has a maximum range of 3,800 nautical miles at 12 knots that enables extended cruising without the need for frequent refueling stops. This capability is essential for a yacht intended to explore far-flung destinations and offer the freedom to roam the seas without constraint.

As for stabilization, state-of-the-art stabilizers have been incorporated to ensure the utmost comfort for all aboard. These stabilizers would be designed to minimize the yacht's motion both at anchor and while underway, thereby enhancing the onboard experience, especially during longer passages.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Waterfront living can be enjoyed to the fullest, thanks to a large beach club and connecting swim platform with plenty of space for sitting back and admiring the sea views. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down and an elevator makes the yacht fully-accessible. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads.
