Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.2m beam and a 2.45m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 498 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the first yacht built on the Bilgin 155 design. Launched in April 2016 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2016.

Exterior Design

With its loose furnishings and glass-fronted spa pool surrounded by sunbeds, guests can revel in the picturesque views and bask in the sun or stars. The centrally located shaded bar and lounge area, alongside the al fresco dining and sun lounging options at the aft, make it an ideal space for any gathering.

The functionality of the outdoor areas is also evident in the beach deck, where integrated umbrellas offer a reprieve from the sun, allowing guests to enjoy the open air with added comfort. The thoughtfully designed sun deck, complemented by the superior sound system and waterproof HD TVs, ensures that Quasar is always ready for a day of leisure or a vibrant night of celebration under the open sky.

Interior Design

The use of crown-cut walnut throughout the joinery forms the backbone of the yacht's interior, setting a tone of understated elegance. The design team at H2 has expertly balanced this with a palette of warm-toned wenge, walnut, olive, and teak for the floors and walls, which are complemented by the lighter neutral fabrics that drape the ceilings and wall panels. These elements coalesce to create a sense of continuity and flow throughout the vessel, ensuring that the transition from one space to another is both seamless and harmonious.

Touches of color are thoughtfully applied, most notably in the soft furnishings, where the lively hues of the cushions add a dash of vibrancy without overwhelming the senses. This careful curation of colors and materials reflects a mature design ethos, steering clear of overly complicated or minimalist trends in favor of timeless style and comfort.

Central to the yacht's design is the innovative use of space. The traditional main saloon is reimagined into a more intimate lounge and cinema, creating a perfect enclave for family movie nights or quiet reflection. The adjacent galley, professional in every sense, boasts a practical layout for efficient meal preparation and service, complete with a picture window that keeps the crew connected to the world outside as they work.

Reflective surfaces, including mirrors skillfully integrated throughout the yacht, enhance the spatial experience, creating the illusion of a larger vessel and amplifying the intricate geometric patterns inspired by Mondrian that adorn the yacht's interior.

Quasar's interior is not just a showcase of design but a practical, living environment, thoughtfully equipped with high-specification audio-visual equipment as per the owners' specific requirements. Televisions are abundant, with some concealed behind mirror finishes, ensuring entertainment is always within reach yet does not disrupt the yacht's aesthetic.

Accommodation

Quasar's accommodation is designed to comfortably host up to 16 guests across a total of six guest cabins.

The master suite offers its occupants an expansive space that features a large bed with a commanding view, exquisite décor, and an adjoining private office that doubles as a mini-cinema, thanks to its curved television perfectly nestled against the concave wall. The suite is further enhanced by a hinged hull door, allowing an intimate connection with the sea and the ease of private access to the outdoors.

For the second primary owner, Quasar offers a full-beam VIP suite on the lower deck, rivaling the master in grandeur. With its plush suede upholstery and ornate fabric headboard, this suite is a sanctuary of luxury. A cleverly concealed television behind a mirror adds to the room's sophistication while preserving its serene ambiance.

The remaining four guest cabins are the epitome of versatility, each being convertible from a twin to a double configuration, with the added convenience of a Pullman berth to accommodate an additional guest. This thoughtful design ensures that whether guests are traveling as couples, friends, or with children, they can be comfortably and elegantly accommodated.

Furthermore, the attention to detail in the guest accommodations is evident, with a design consistency that echoes the Mondrian-inspired geometric patterns found throughout the yacht, providing a sense of unity and flow between the private and communal spaces.

Performance & Capabilities

Quasar is powered by twin 1,450hp C32 Caterpillar engines, which propel her to a top speed of nearly 16 knots. This impressive propulsion system combines power with finesse, ensuring that Quasar is not only fast but also smooth and reliable during navigation.

Equipped for long voyages, Quasar boasts an extensive range of 5,000 nautical miles when cruising at a comfortable speed of 10 knots. This remarkable range facilitates transatlantic crossings and extended trips, allowing guests to explore the farthest reaches of the globe without the need for frequent refueling stops.

From a technical standpoint, the naval architecture by Unique Yacht Design prioritizes comfort, stability, and efficiency. The hull of Quasar has been crafted to outperform similar class yachts by 10 percent in terms of efficiency.
