Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 14.5m beam and a 2.7m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 750 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in early 2021 with the keel laid under the project name 'Innovation'. Launched in September 2023 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in May 2024.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of "This is It" stands out in the superyacht world due to its bold and innovative approach, with a design that defies conventional yachts.
From the sides to the aft section, the yacht has a unique appearance inspired by various elements such as car design, sea life, and residential architecture. The asymmetric design includes great curved arches in the superstructure and a waterfall cascading on the side of the centered glass pool on the aft deck, which is a striking visual element.
Glass plays a significant role in the yacht’s design, with 600 sqm (6,450 sqft) used throughout. The large glass barriers and enveloping sides create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, enhancing the overall sense of openness.
The outdoor areas include a main aft deck with stylish Minotti furniture and a pool with glass sides. The upper deck features a private terrace with a stone floor, providing a commanding view over the aft deck, and a panoramic spa room.
The yacht's structure includes a shaped staircase in aluminium and layered glass, reflecting the owner's preference for large and pleasant-to-use staircases. The design also ensures practical benefits, such as allowing breezes to flow through the spaces, reducing the need for air conditioning.
Interior Design
"This is It" employs a restricted palette that includes wood, marble, and metal. Selections include Carrara marble for a freestanding basin and python grey marble in one of the bathrooms. Metals such as gold, bronze, and titanium have been intricately applied, particularly in the upper deck's spa room, where walls are spray-painted with a champagne color liquid metal on composite. The vertical garden is a striking feature, rising from the main deck to the upper deck, incorporating integrated lighting and climate control.
The galley is designed as a showpiece, featuring a large, open space with a round table adjacent to it. The area is separated by LED-lit glass, which can either display the contents of the galley or obscure them as needed.
The helm is a unique space featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and freestanding consoles built by Tecnomar with Team Italia. The captain has access to touchscreens and remote commands, all designed for uninterrupted views and operational efficiency.
The main saloon is designed with no threshold or visual barrier, creating a transition from the outdoor to the indoor space. The saloon includes a relaxed setting with a big screen TV, a card area, and a humidor for cigars. The bar, clad in leather printed to look like elephant skin, serves as an entertainment hub, enhanced by a Preciosa crystal light fixture.
The TV lounge within the main saloon features a slightly elevated area with a bronze-painted ceiling, creating an enveloping effect. The saloon’s layout is unconventional, with curvy Minotti furniture lending a cohesive feel to both indoor and outdoor lounges.
Subtle illumination helps define the yacht's asymmetric spaces. The design uses lighting to enhance the overall ambiance, focusing on creating a balance between comfort and visual appeal.
The yacht features large, user-friendly staircases made from aluminium and layered glass, facilitating easy movement between decks. The upper deck spa room offers a panoramic view and includes a multifunctional sensory shower. The walls are treated to resist humid heat, maintaining the appearance of natural materials while ensuring durability.
Accommodation
The luxury catamaran "This Is It" offers accommodation for up to 12 guests across a range of six cabins.
The owner’s suite, located aft on the upper deck, is a standout feature of the yacht. This suite boasts an impressive ceiling height of 3.3m (11ft), with a central bed positioned under a large skylight, providing a bright and airy ambiance. The suite also includes a private terrace with a stone floor, offering a commanding view of the surrounding seascape.
The main deck houses two VIP guest cabins, each designed with high ceilings, large windows, and a calming color palette. The layout aims to create a cocoon-like environment, offering guests a sense of protection and relaxation.
Further guest accommodation includes two additional cabins on the lower deck, ensuring guests have easy access to the water and enjoy fantastic views. These cabins follow the same design philosophy, with soothing shapes and colors to enhance the overall experience.
On the upper deck, a guest cabin can be used as a games room, complete with a convertible sofa for overnight use and its own en suite bathroom. This flexible area provides additional convenience and entertainment for guests.
"This Is It" also provides comfortable accommodation for up to 10 crew members. The starboard hull includes an officer cabin towards the aft, while the other hull is reserved for four crew cabins, the laundry facilities and the tender garage.
