Presented at the esteemed BOAT International Design and Innovations Awards, the Azimut Grande 32 Metri has won its second award in as many months. During an elaborate gala held on the 27th of January in Cortina D’Ampezzo, the latest Metri model picked up the award for Best Naval Architecture in the semi-displacement or planing yachts category.

After winning the award for Best Motor Yacht in Asia at the Christofle Yacht Style Awards in the 25 to 30 metre category, the Grande 32 Metri continues to walk in the footsteps of the popular Grande 35 Metri model by winning its second award for the season.

Designed in collaboration with long term partners Stefano Righini and Achille Salvagni, the 32 Metri impressed the judging panel with its technological innovations and refined architecture. Recognition of outstanding efforts to improve performance and comfort were also taken into account with extensive research efforts from the Italian brand and the outstanding D2P hull.

Created in partnership between Pierluigi Ausonio and the Azimut | Benetti Research and Development centre, the Displacement to Planing hull provides many benefits to the yacht including improved stability in displacement mode. Length at the front of the waterline has been extended with a wave piercing bow, which is accentuated with a double chine which aids the reduction in hull resistance.

Last year the flagship of the Grande Collection, the 35 Metri, had received numerous awards and with the new Grande 32 Metri we are keeping up with this lucky trend.

The exterior designs from long term collaborator Righini have a familiar to previous designs but there is still a unique and bold image presented on the Grande 32 Metri. Strong and powerful lines run along the vessel, displaying a dominant but inviting reflection.

Exteriors are spacious for guests to enjoy, starting with an 18 square metre stern beach club. Available in two options, owners can have a beach club decorated with stunning free standing furniture and storage for watersports equipment, or an alternative layout with a sophisticated water level terrace.

Moving up to the flydeck, a generous 70 square metres is available for guest use. Separated into different areas, onboard guests can indulge in a sun bathing area complete with a whirpool tub, enjoy an al fresco dining option with spectacular views or enjoy some quiet time in a lavish lounge area on the deck.

Interiors for the Grande 32 Metri are outstanding, as recognised with an award for Best Interior Design at the 2018 World Yacht Trophies award ceremony. Salvagni has created a vision which sees multiple contrasts creating a simple but refined atmosphere. Light and dark tones furnish the interior space which are further highlighted in the abundance of natural light thanks to the full height windows.

The feeling of space continues to be the main focus throughout the guest areas with another contrast of empty and full creating areas which can accommodate owners and their guests throughout their stay onboard.

Overnight accommodation remains consistent with the high quality interior finish with a spacious full beam master suite with two walls of complete full height glazing and a further four guest cabins on the lower deck.
