The Ferretti Group have celebrated another award this week with the presentation of the Best New Production Yacht Design award for the Custom Line 120. Presented at the BOAT International Design and Innovation Awards in January 2019, the award was given in recognition of the aesthetics, innovations and commercial appeal of the new addition to the Italian fleet.
Focusing on the removal of the interior/exterior boundary, the brand new Custom Line 120 features a collaborative design effort from Francesco Paszkowski, Margherita Casprini and the Strategic Product Committee.
Styling of the planing model has taken cues from the automotive industry with full length taut lines, dark tinted windows and a sleek and powerful image. More inspiration has been drawn from racing power yachts with an extension to the quickwork towards the bow. The updated and fresh design ensures an exceptional performance thanks to increased resistance during cruising.
Powered by a pair of MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, Vista Blue can reach top speeds of 25 knots with cruising at 21 knots. For owners who wish to explore further, the vessel can over a range of 1,150 nautical miles when cruising at 11 knots.
Exteriors of the vessel are spatious and inviting starting with two sunpads and a large dinette on the foredeck. Up on the sundeck guests can enjoy spectacular panoramic views in privacy with a relaxartion area and an indulgent whirlpool tub. Free standing furniture also allows guests to make themselves at home and set up their required layout for the day. Shade from the sun is easily arranged with a retractable bimini canopy which has its own skylight.
For guests who want to be close to the water, the patented Dual Mode Transom (DMT) is a perfect addition to a day at sea. Concealing stairs during transit, the transom transforms to provide easy access to the water for guests in addition to acting as a seamless launch pad. Up to two tenders can be stored onboard as well as a three person and single jetski.
Interiors for the Custom Line 120 are just as clean and crisp as the exteriors with an abundant amount of natural light thanks to the long window lines. A glass aft bulkhead also provides natural light doubling up as a regular door or a fully retractable glass wall, which stores overhead. The continuity theme of converging interiors with exteriors can be felt throughout the main salon with neutral tones and plenty of space in which to enjoy the comforts of both entities.
A formal dining area and comfortable lounge area dominate the main deck and feature innovative solutions including support columns which are integrated with audio, lighting and air con facilities. An owner's suite also resides on the deck which comprises of a dressing room, full 7.65 metre beam bathroom and a vanity unit. As an optional extra, owners can also request a private terrace terrace.
On the lower deck an additional four cabins can accommodate overnight guests. Two VIP cabins have a unique layout with beds facing the bulwark to make the most of the view from the hull windows. Forward are two singles cabins and all four cabins have their own private en-suite.
