Circa Marine has announced its first 24m (78.7ft) expedition yacht MOLLYMAWK has completed her second week of sea trials as the New Zealand-based yard continues to monitor her performance and handling.
The yard has revealed initial results are promising saying, “preliminary data collected is looking very exciting, and the fuel burn numbers are really encouraging”.
The Circa 24 meter series of boats are extensively customizable with multiple cabin configurations and layouts. MOLLYMAWK features naval and exterior architecture by LOMOcean Design, whilst her interior is penned by Circa Marine themselves.
The 80GT motor yacht offers accommodation for six guests across three cabins with twin Scania DI09070M 250hp diesel engines giving a top speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots with a 5,000nm range. She is set for delivery later this year.
Whilst MOLLYMAWK continues to be tested in a range of configurations and weather conditions the second hull of the model, ‘Deo Juvante’, is also under construction. Being built for a European client ‘Deo Juvante’ differs slightly by having four cabins and slightly different upper deck styling.
Based in Whangarei in New Zealand, Circa Marine specializes in building aluminum boats from 3m (10ft) to 40m (131ft) in length. In particular, it has a pedigree for building explorer yachts, being responsible for the FPB range of expedition vessels of which there are 15 currently on the seas.
