Damen Yachting’s new look SeaXplorer 77 will feature a huge party and dance space for up to 150 guests as the Dutch yard puts an increased focus on exploration lifestyle features.
The 77m (252.5ft) explorer yacht is the first in an updated SeaXplorer line up, following a comprehensive review by the in-house SeaXplorer design team together with exterior stylists Azure Yacht Design and operational design partners EYOS Expeditions.
The reimagined SeaXplorer 77 draws upon the design’s first delivery, LA DATCHA, as its inspiration. Other added lifestyle orientated features include an Upper Deck swimming pool and updated indoor-outdoor spaces with pedigree finishes.
It’s about staying safe in isolation, but also about enjoying the yachting lifestyle to the maximum.

Enrique Tintore, SeaXplorer Design Manager at Damen Yachting, reflects upon the need for guests to be able to enjoy outdoor living on an expedition yacht:
“Visiting the polar regions once in their lifetimes is on nearly every SeaXplorer client’s bucket list,” he says. “But so are many tropical areas where the operational challenges shouldn’t be underestimated. It’s about staying safe in isolation, but also about enjoying the yachting lifestyle to the maximum. In fact, you don’t need to go very far from the major superyacht hubs before the benefits of an explorer yacht become clear. That’s the philosophy that our line-up reflects.”
A number of updates dedicated to expanding exploration possibilities are also being introduced. These include a multipurpose aft deck that can be modified for Owner specific requirements, such as deploying a seaplane or storing a large 7-person submarine. To give an option of more efficient cruising all SeaXplorers are now being offered with hybrid electrical drive propulsion (PTO/PTI configuration) and a battery bank.
New interior concepts have also been penned by Monaco Yacht Temptation and Winch Design.
Damen Yachting’s SeaXplorer range are fully customizable, purpose-designed luxury expedition yachts, with each meeting the IMO Polar Code. The first of the line, 62m (203.5ft) ANAWA, was delivered in 2020. The line is characterized by a huge range of around 6,000nm or more and a shallow draft of around 4m (13ft).
