Evo Yachts reveals renderings of flagship sailing and motor yacht crossover EVO V8

The first model in its new V Line, the Evo V8, combines the best of sailing and motor yachts into one 24m (78.7ft) yacht.

Evo Yachts has released the first renderings of its flagship Evo V8 model, which it claims takes the best of both sailing and motor yachts to offer “an alternative to anything seen before”.

The 24m (78.7ft) yacht is in the first model in its new V Line and was previously known as the Velar 78 concept. It is set to be officially unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September, but for now, the newly released renderings give a glimpse into what is set to make it stand out from similar models on the market.

Blu Emme Yachts, the shipyard behind the Evo Yachts brand say the Evo V8 model springs from a desire to offer a “totally new concept of cruising at the intersection between the worlds of sailing and motor yachts”.

Early impressions suggest the sailing aspect is more symbolic, though no less interesting for it, featuring an innovative four helm station design. In a reference to the world of sailing, two of the helm stations are twin wheels on the port and starboard main deck.

The Evo V8 also features a large open beach area, just 70cm above the waterline, that sports 180-degree panoramic views thanks to hull sides that open. A low lounge area precedes the master stateroom and comes replete with large glass sliding doors. They allow it to be used as an open-air patio in the daytime and a private living area for the Owner at night.

Valerio Rivellini is responsible for both the interior and exterior design of the Evo V8, and he explains how the new yacht combines two popular yachting segments: “Motor yacht lovers begin their holiday when they reach their destination, either at anchor off the coast or in port, whereas sailing yacht owners start their holiday right away, as soon as they step onboard. Evo V8 combines the speed of a motor yacht with the comfort and relaxation of sailing.”

The yacht features a fully customizable layout, with the first hull accommodating seven guests across three cabins. She is expected to be launched in the coming months and handed over to her Italian owner.

EVO Yachts was born in 2014 as part of Blu Emme Yachts and is based from a shipyard near Naples. It produces smaller yachts with individualistic features based around the hallmarks of clean lines, natural light and modular spaces.
