Now on its eighth edition, the 2021 event will undoubtedly look different compared to previous editions, however, every step and precaution has been taken to offer a safe and enjoyable environment for the nine-day event.
Situated at the Premier Marinas Swanwick, in Southampton, the event displays an enticing collection of quality engineering from some of the most well-known luxury yacht builders.
Expanding the show in 2020 to include a range of international brands, in addition to the home-based brands, visitors to the show can expect to see a great collection of flybridge models, sports yachts, cruisers, tenders and more.
Complying with COVID
In cooperation with the current restrictions put in place by the UK government, the British Motor Yacht Show will have multiple procedures in place to ensure the safety of visitors, crew and exhibitors at all times.
Adding additional space between exhibits and displays, the two-metre rule will be implemented throughout the grounds of the show, along with hand cleansing stations and the compulsory wearing of face coverings.
Like previous editions, appointments are bookable beforehand to aid the flow of visitors and numbers will be capped at various attractions.
What to expect
A smaller event than the well-known Southampton Boat Show in September, the Swanwick marina-based event is designed to put the yacht buyer at the centre of attention.
With show attendance only available on a pre-booked system, the flow around the show is relaxed but with a purpose, as visitors have the opportunity to view some of the latest models up close and explore them in meticulous detail.
With representatives and dealers on hand to advise at each of the exhibits, the majority of the models on display are in the 10-25 metre range and are ideal for weekend escapes or localised voyages with friends or family.
Attending brands
Each year more and more brands join the list of exhibitors, providing buyers with even more choices and options to find their ideal yacht.
Being based in the UK, there is naturally a good selection of British brands displaying their yachts including Sunseeker, Princess, Pearl and Fairline.
The previous edition in 2020 saw a big leap for the show as many established international brands also began attending the event. Making their welcome return this year Azimut, Beneteau, Cranchi and Bavaria among many more will also be showcasing some of their latest and most popular sub-25m models.
