Horizon Yachts successfully launches second 23.4m FD75 ahead of US debut

Following the world debut of the first hull in January 2020 at an Open House Event, the second Horizon FD75 yacht has successfully been launched from the Horizon Vision Shipyard ready for an anticipated US debut.

Having already completed her sea trials, the entry-level model is powered by twin Caterpillar C18 ACERT engines and is currently on schedule to be delivered to the US in December 2020.

Constructed with the yard's iconic High-Performance Piercing Bow and hull, the Horizon FD series model is tailored towards the American market, with multiple innovations onboard to create a home away from home environment for US owners and their guests.

Built for owner or crew operation, the layout of the Horizon FD75 has two helms, one stationed up on the spacious flybridge and the second in a raised pilothouse adjacent to the main deck lounge area.

Featuring design collaborations from known yacht designer Cor D. Rover, the Horizon FD75 has a range of around 2,289 nautical miles and a maximum speed of 19 knots.

Phenomenal success of the FD Series led to clients asking if we could create something that offered the same amenities and performance as the larger FD yachts but in a smaller footprint.

Building on the larger FD series sister ships' essence of volume and space, the Horizon FD75 offers an expansive main deck and salon which benefits from undisturbed views through wide-reaching windows across the superstructure.

In the true fashion of yachts from the Taiwanese shipyard, a “sea of serenity” atmosphere is achieved throughout the interiors with a combination of two-toned white and silver oak wood plus a selection of grey and blue accents throughout.

Sliding doors to the aft main deck further enhance the seamless transition from interior to exterior, offering an entertaining space which can be enclosed or extended in moments.

Both interiors and exteriors come together to offer convenience and luxury with easy access to all amenities onboard.

An amidships galley caters to the main deck lounge, interior dining option and al fresco relaxation area on the aft deck, while an integrated BBQ and wet bar accommodate guests spending the day on the flybridge.

In addition to the onboard facilities, tenders make use of the aft deck while in transit to make the most of the space available, launched by a steelhead davit when required.

Overnight accommodation on this Horizon model can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests at any one time.

Dominated by a full-beam master cabin on the main deck forward, complete with his and hers sinks, seating and unrivalled views, there's a four-cabin layout with the remaining three cabins located on the lower deck.

Guests on the lower deck can make the most of a VIP cabin, a double and a twin.
