Dutch yard Zeelander has unveiled the latest model in its fleet, the ‘whisper quiet’ Zeelander 5.
The 14.6m (48ft) was revealed to the public for the first time at the Cannes Yachting Festival and has a strong focus on the onboard experience, functionality and use of space. Sporting a more voluptuous shape than other models from the yard, the Zeelander 5 certainly looks curvaceous with a flowing shearline.
“At Zeelander, we want to inspire people to be extraordinary,” said founder Sietse Koopmans. “The Zeelander 5 is an embodiment of that philosophy. A sophisticated yacht that stands out and can be personalized to its owner’s taste. The exterior is a continuation of the lines of the successful Z72 and the interior design is truly exceptional for a yacht of this size.”
Thanks to significant work around sound and vibration proofing, the generator and aircon produce just 46dB when at anchor, apparently that is the same same sound level as that found in a library! At the other end of the spectrum, running at full throttle, the boat has a top speed of 45 knots.
Improved functionality comes in the form of side boarding doors, a full walkaround cockpit and a sunroof and a retractable sliding window aft. Below deck, there is a large master cabin with a walkaround bed and a v-shaped twin forward.

Powerwise options include twin or triple Volvo Penta IPS 500 or 650 pods for a maximum of 1,440hp. The first Zeelander 5 is expected to hit the water in mid-2022.
