Princess Yachts has announced the launch of the latest yacht to join its award-winning Y-Class range, the 21.77m (74.9ft) Y72.
The Y72 has been developed in collaboration with Princess Yachts’ long-standing naval architect Olesinki and the Italian design house Pininfarina. She joins her sister yachts, the Y78 and the Y85 in the range, along with the highly anticipated flagship, the Y95, which is due to launch in 2022.
The Y72 takes her inspiration from these larger Y Class yachts to deliver comparable design features. Her highlights include a spacious saloon with a bar area and an open plan galley, a large flybridge with expansive sunpads and relaxation areas and four beautifully appointed cabins that can accommodate up to eight guests, including a full-beam Owner's suite that takes advantage of the eliptical hull glass.
Performance-wise the Y72 is fitted with twin MAN V12 engines, either 1400mhp or 1650mhp, with the latter powering the Y72 up to 34 knots.
The Princess Y Class is a series of flybridge yachts above 20m (65.6ft) in size, offering increased interior space and lots of light thanks to huge glass sections across the main deck and cabins below.
The Y72 is the entry-level model in this range, with her bigger sisters the 24.67m (80.9ft) Y78 and the 26.2m (85.95ft) Y85 offering a similar layout and ethos and slightly more space.
The Princess Y95 is due to launch next year and the 29m (95ft) motor yacht will come with a configurable layout featuring five guest cabins and a wave-piercing bow with top speeds of up to 26 knots.
