Two Princess Y78s have made their model debuts in Thailand as the British yard looks to build upon its popularity in the burgeoning South-East Asia region.
Its Y75 model and the Princess 88, which has just sold a fifth hull in Phuket, are already firm favorites in the area. The Y78s premiered at the Pattaya and Phuket branches of regional dealer Boat Lagoon Yachting, with a Y72 also handed over to a client. Boat Lagoon Yachting reported at the end of last year that it had seen company-record sales of Princess yachts in the first half of 2020.
This comes hot on the heels of other indicators that the Asian yachting market is in a very healthy position. A number of Asian shipyards reported good sales figures for 2020 and a variety of brokers around the world announced a significant number of sales in the Asian continent over the past year.

It has also recently been revealed that VAT on the value of superyachts will no longer be applied to foreign-flagged vessels when chartering in waters in Thailand. A decision that is set to have a positive impact on the country’s superyacht tourism sector.
The Y78 is part of Princess's new-look fleet of Y Class yachts, a line of flybridge yachts with increased size and volume. The Y Class is just one of Princess's many yachts for sale, according to YachtBuyer intelligence the British builder has delivered 226 yachts since 2008 with a strong focus on fast, planning-hull flybridge yachts in the 12m (40ft) to 21m (70ft) range.
