On Deck
The GT 41 is the smallest yacht in the GT line that has the option of a hi-lo bathing platform. Nick is drawn to the lighting around the back of the yacht, commenting that it must look nice at night. The yacht has a sun pad and spacious seating area, which can be transformed into a sunbathing area by pulling the seats forward. This feature is appreciated, along with the hard top and the solid sliding roof. The wet bar, complete with grill and sink, are highlighted.
Nick likes the recessed handrail that runs along the side of the yacht, and the sunbathing area at the bow. He also mentions the anchor handling kit situated there.
Interior
Nick admires the ergonomics of the helm area, which is centrally located with double and single seats. The clever design of removable sections for easy access and movement is noted. There is a sliding roof section and opening windows on both sides. The throttle controls, joystick controller, multi-function display, and switch gear are all located here.
Below deck, the spacious sitting area and the large hull windows are impressive. The kitchen area, complete with two-burner gas hob, sink, fridge, and storage, also draws attention. In the front of the yacht, there is a double bed with storage and hull windows, and access to engineering areas.
The mid-cabin is designed with beds on the centerline, which is clever as it provides more headroom. There is also a heads area with a loo and a shower, and a door to keep the area dry.
Performance
The engine space houses a pair of Volvo Penta D4-300 horsepower engines, which can propel the yacht to about 32 knots. These engines give the yacht a range of about 200 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 25 knots. The engines can be upgraded to D6-380 horsepower for more speed.
In Summary
Overall, Nick Burnham provides an in-depth tour of the Beneteau Gran Turismo 41, pointing out its many features and expressing his appreciation for its design elements.
