On Deck

The Galeon 400 Fly features a hi-lo platform at the back, which has steps that drop into place as it lowers, providing direct stairs into the water. He is also impressed by the transom shower and the outdoor galley with a sink, griddle, and icebox.

The cockpit has side-opening balconies, which when lowered, significantly increase the space at the back of the boat. The seating areas are flexible, with backrests that can be adjusted to create different seating configurations. The table here is extendable, allowing it to accommodate more people when needed.

On the outside, he admires the helm station's huge one-piece screen, the lift-up canopy, and the seating area at the front. The flybridge also impresses him with its helm station, a repeater for the Raymarine system, the stereo control, and the seating area. He also appreciates the bimini, which can be completely removed when not in use.

Interior

The interior has a high-gloss walnut finish, with lighting options, and the inclusion of a television which can be hidden when not in use. The galley area's has soft-close drawers, induction hob, oven/microwave, and fridge. Another feature that impresses is the sliding door that allows an open-air feel when fully retracted.

Moving to the lower deck, he is amazed by the vast space in the VIP guest cabin, which can easily be converted from a V-berth to a centerline double. There is a huge skylight and various lighting options in the cabin. The boat also includes day heads with a toilet, shower, and rainfall shower feature.

In the master cabin, despite the headroom being compromised due to the boat's size, is across the full beam of the boat, and features a dressing table, considerable storage space and classy woodwork.

Performance

The engine room can be configured with IPS engines, stern-drive engines, or shaft-drive engines. This boat has shaft drive engines, which, with the use of V-drives, allows the engines to sit fairly well back, creating more space for cabin accommodation.  The engines are Volvo Penta D6-440 giving the boat about 30 knots flat out, cruising at 22 knots can give a range of 200 nm.

In Summary

Nick appears to be thoroughly impressed with the Galeon 400 Fly's innovative features, spacious interior, and flexible configurations. He appreciates the meticulous attention to detail, the practicality of the design, and the yacht's performance capabilities.
