On Deck

The yacht's striking appearance, adorned in the classic Gulf Racing colors, is highlighted by Nick, who expresses his admiration for its aesthetics. Boarding the yacht, there is a massive shaded cockpit area with a large aft dining table, which impressively integrates the indoor and outdoor experiences. A good feature is the power-closing doors that can enclose the space when the weather is less favorable.

The flybridge includes an additional helm position, covered dining area, bar and sunbathing spots. The yacht has a unique asymmetric design, allowing direct access from the flybridge to the foredeck, a feature that was innovative for its time.

On the foredeck, there is ample room for relaxation with wonderful views.

The beach club area showcases a color-coded jet ski and kayak, both matching the yacht's Gulf Racing theme, even down to the color-coded engine.

Interior

Moving inside, the saloon area has a cozy central location on the boat with a bar area with an array of bar essentials and crockery. One unique feature is the fireplace, an uncommon find on a yacht, which he finds pretty cool.

The Heesen 3700  has only three cabins instead of the typical four for a yacht its size, allowing for more generous crew quarters. The cabins feature iconic racing-themed imagery and carbon fiber trim, which is valued for their contribution to the yacht's overall racing heritage.

Each guest cabin features well-appointed en-suites, complete with showers and high-quality finishes. In the lower hallway, there are practical amenities like an ice maker, drinks fridge, and linen storage, showing the attention to detail.

The owner's cabin features a vast wardrobe, a desk area, and large windows offering stunning views. Of particular note is the carbon fiber accents that tie into the yacht's sporty theme. The en-suite bath, featuring a large shower and a bathtub, further exemplifies the luxurious accommodations.

The bridge, which Nick describes as a "serious place of business," is equipped with comprehensive navigation and control systems.

Crew Accommodation

The crew area features a spacious galley and very convenient crew access to the side decks. The captain's cabin is a very comfortable size and has many amenities.  The yacht's consideration for crew comfort is highlighted by dedicating more of its space to the crew quarters, accommodating up to six.

Performance

The engine room houses two massive MTU 16V 4000 M90 3,650hp engines that provide the yacht with an impressive 30 knots of speed, cruising at 17 knots.  Dropping down to 14 knots will provide 2,000 nautical miles of range.

In Summary

Nick finishes the tour back at the beach club, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to tour the Heesen 3700, a vessel that first caught his eye during his initial boating experiences in the Mediterranean.
