Rivals to Consider
Princess has created one of the smoothest, most refined flybridge designs yet with its Y72. And so has Azimut with the 68. Both yachts offer different but very balanced designs, this is particularly the case inside. Where the Princess is smartly modern but familiar, the Azimut goes off on a dreamlike tangent full of shape, colour and the sort of eco-lux we first saw on the Grande Trideck flagship. A smaller yacht, the 68 only manages a bunked fourth cabin but matches the Princess in other departments. It also offers plenty of options on layout, with a galley up or aft design that allows Owners to choose a raised or aft lounge.
There must be a law somewhere that says a Princess must have a Sunseeker rival. The Sunseeker Manhattan 68 is that boat and, although slightly smaller, it is a very close match, with a privately accessed Owner’s cabin, three good guest cabins, a galley aft salon with a separate dining area and a large, sage and stylish flybridge.
The Absolute 72 Fly is a larger yacht, a fact that is reflected in the impressive full-beam Owner’s stateroom and grown-up salon with its big-yacht dining area. The Absolute adds three guests cabins, two ensuite, and a spacious flybridge to what feels a high-quality yacht.
Another larger yacht, the Ferretti 720 perhaps has more in common with the Absolute than the Princess with the same cabin and salon layout. Although larger, it needs a slight step up in the salon for the cabin below, not an issue, more a testament to the design of the single-level Princess.
