Sunreef Yachts History & Heritage
Sunreef, founded in 2002 by Francis Lapp, a French expatriate industrialist, has evolved into a prominent player in the yacht construction domain.
Francis Lapp, who continues to serve as the driving force and chief executive, initially ventured into manufacturing electrical equipment in Poland for over a decade. His foray into the yacht industry was spurred by the absence of large, luxury multihull yachts for his charter fleet in the Indian Ocean.
The inaugural yacht, the 74ft Che, marked Sunreef's entry into the market in 2003. Distinguished as the first ocean-going luxury catamaran equipped with a flybridge, Che set a pioneering standard. After this, Sunreef achieved another milestone with the launch of Jambo in 2008, the world's first Category A double-deck power cat, paving the way for various other groundbreaking innovations. Over recent years, Sunreef has consistently garnered industry awards, reinforcing its position as a leader in multihull yacht construction.
