Westport Yachts History & Heritage

Established in 1964 and situated in the namesake harbor town near Seattle in Washington State, Westport emerged as a leader in marine composite construction.

Initially recognized for constructing large, ocean-going vessels for the North Pacific commercial fishing fleet, tasked with navigating the harsh and unforgiving conditions of the Gulf of Alaska, Westport has since solidified its reputation as a premier builder of both commercial and private vessels.

With a portfolio comprising approximately 170 fishing boats, as well as passenger ferries and other commercial crafts, Westport has demonstrated its expertise in rugged construction and impeccable craftsmanship. Additionally, the shipyard has delivered over 140 luxurious private yachts, characterized by the same robust build quality and world-class finish.

Throughout its five decades of operation, Westport has emerged as the largest builder of superyachts in the USA and one of the most prolific worldwide, cementing its position as a leading authority in the marine industry.
