European Powerboat Awards

The European Powerboat Awards recognize the best boats in their respective size categories each year, with attention being paid to performance, comfort, construction quality, value for money, design and unique technical features.

The prestigious European Powerboat Award ceremony is held at the start of Boot Dusseldorf, the world’s largest indoor boat show, in January each year.

Focused on the small and speedy varieties of yachts, the nominees for European Powerboat of the Year are often in the niches of sports yachts, flybridge yachts and trawlers

Launched in 2005, there are four different length categories each year, which are;

  • Up to 8m
  • Up to 10m
  • Up to 14m
  • Up to 20m

In addition to the awards for each individual size category, two other awards are also presented for a length-independent displacement class and an electric category.

A jury made up of representatives from some of the leading European motorboat publications shortlist the nominees each September and then vote on the final winners in November.

Magazine publications forming the judging panel include Båtmagasinet (Norway), BoatMag (Italy), BOOTE (Germany), Motorboot (Netherlands), MoteurBoat (France), Nautica y Yates (Spain), Neptune (France), Marina CH (Switzerland) and last but not least Yachtrevue (Austria).

Following the final vote to establish the winners, awards are presented on Flagship Night, the opening industry gala event in conjunction with Boot Dusseldorf.
