Design & Construction

Designed around a planing carbon/epoxy hull and a carbon fibre superstructure she features a 24'7" beam and a 4'9" draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 251 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Launched in March 2011 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the yacht Butterfly is characterized by its sleek and contemporary appearance. The hull features a striking silver color, complemented by a white boot top that elegantly sweeps upward to the bow. The superstructure is also white, creating a classic and clean aesthetic.

Designed by Norwegian architect Espen Oeino, the Butterfly yacht's aerodynamic form is highlighted by its angular lines and curvaceous elements, which are both functional and stylish. The use of large windscreen panels and skylights ensures that light is an integral part of the design, enhancing the visual appeal and functionality of the space.

The yacht's exterior is not just about aesthetics; it is engineered for performance. The lightweight carbon fiber hull contributes to its impressive speed capabilities, allowing the yacht to achieve speeds in excess of 45 knots. The attention to detail in the hull shape and material selection is critical for optimizing performance and efficiency on the water.

Interior Design

The interior design of the yacht Butterfly is executed with a Scandinavian influence. This design ethos is evident in the choice of materials and layout throughout the vessel.

The main salon is furnished with a maple table featuring carbon fiber inlays. Cream-colored sofas and settees offer comfortable seating, while a white lacquered bar serves as a focal point. The bar is complemented by leather and stainless-steel stools and chairs. The texture in the salon is enhanced by a linen and silk shag carpet placed near the seating area.

Light is a key element in the yacht's design, helped by large windscreen panels, skylights, and a giant opening hardtop above the main salon. This emphasis on natural light creates an open and airy environment, further reflected by the choice of light-colored fabrics and surfaces.

The galley is equipped for efficiency and practicality, designed to serve both guests and crew effectively. It is fitted with high-quality appliances and ample storage, ensuring a functional workspace that meets the demands of the yacht's operations.

The helm, with its state-of-the-art glass bridge, presents a modern control center. Its design is inspired by contemporary aesthetics, featuring curvilinear glass panels and a swoop of concave glass that integrates into the teak-paneled walls.

Accommodation

The yacht Butterfly offers accommodation for up to eight guests across four staterooms. Each stateroom is designed with a focus on comfort and style, incorporating serene and light-filled spaces. The owner's cabin is uniquely located at the forward peak of the yacht.

Two of the guest cabins feature innovative design elements, such as translucent gray-toned rubber sinks that interact with the ambient purple lighting. The fourth stateroom serves dual purposes: it functions as a chic theater viewing room and can be converted to accommodate an additional guest. All cabins come equipped with air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms, and individual iPod music stations from Bang & Olufsen.

Crew accommodation is thoughtfully arranged for up to four crew, featuring a well-equipped galley and a crew mess area.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M93L) 3,440hp engines, motor yacht Butterfly is capable of reaching a top speed of 47 knots, and comfortably cruises at 40 knots. With her 5,466 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 900 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
