Design & Construction
Designed around a planing aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 7.6m beam and a 2.3m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 262 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the first yacht built on the 122' Mythos design. Launched in March 2014 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2014.
Exterior Design
Chop Chop features an all-aluminum construction that enhances its sleek profile. A new Regal Silver paint color, offset by metallic black accents, underscores the vessel's streamlined appearance. The varnished black coachroof extends over the forward part of the sun deck, complementing the black windscreen.
One notable feature is the expansive aft deck, which includes two large L-shaped sofas and a dining table for eight, partially covered by the superstructure. A removable bimini provides additional sun protection. The central stairway aft leads to a bathing platform that transforms into a beach club, thanks to the Opacmare Transformer platform, which hinges down into the water for easy access.
The foredeck is equipped with expansive sunpads that conceal a tender storage area, capable of housing a personal watercraft. Additionally, another lounge area on the foredeck includes two hidden refrigerators for convenience.
Interior Design
The interior design of the yacht Chop Chop is characterized by a clean and timeless aesthetic. The design work, directed by Officina Italiana Design and influenced by the owner, incorporates high-quality materials such as Canaletto walnut, white lacquered panels, white and dark leathers, chromium-plated steel, and white oak floors.
The main salon and dining area extends approximately 30 feet, offering panoramic views through wide windows. The aft doors slide almost completely away to enhance the connection with the water. Variations in ceiling height throughout the salon contribute to a spacious feel, particularly above the dining table.
The raised pilothouse is designed for comfort and provides excellent all-round visibility. Just forward of the pilothouse, the full-width galley includes large windows on either side. This space, designed with input from the owner who has a passion for food and cooking, is fitted to the same high standard as the rest of the yacht. It includes a small breakfast table in the corner and is intended for use by both guests and crew.
Accommodation
Chop Chop offers accommodation for up to seven guests in three well-appointed cabins. The owner has opted for a layout that maximizes private space, resulting in expansive quarters for all guests.
The master suite is located on the lower deck amidships and utilizes the full beam of the yacht, which is nearly 25 feet wide. This suite is particularly notable for its generous ceiling height of almost seven-and-a-half feet, offering a spacious and airy environment. The en-suite bathroom is a highlight, featuring an owner's special request: a private sauna.
In addition to the master suite, Chop Chop includes two guest cabins. Each cabin features a double bed. One of these cabins has the flexibility to convert into two single beds and includes an additional Pullman berth, providing versatile sleeping arrangements to accommodate varying guest needs.
The crew quarters are located forward and can house a complement of five crew members in three cabins. The captain has a dedicated double cabin, while the remaining four crew members share two cabins fitted with bunk beds. The crew area includes a dinette and a galley, accessible only through the main galley, ensuring privacy for the guests.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M93L) 3,510hp engines, motor yacht Chop Chop is capable of reaching a top speed of 32 knots, and comfortably cruises at 26 knots. With her 18,500 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
