Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.13m beam and a 3.1m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 615 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Darnice III's exterior is painted and varnished to a high standard. The hull and superstructure are both painted white, giving the yacht a clean and cohesive appearance. The boot top and antifoul areas are black, providing a stark contrast to the overall white scheme. This color combination is simple yet effective, ensuring the yacht maintains a classic look. The lines of the yacht are smooth, with no unnecessary embellishments, focusing on practicality and efficiency.

The upper sundeck, serving as a heli-pad, also features a swimming pool strategically placed near the yacht's horizontal center of gravity. This pool can hold five tons of fresh or seawater, suitable for both bathing and whirlpool massage.

The yacht's design includes intelligent service facilities, allowing the crew to work efficiently without intruding on guest spaces. The bow-thruster aids in berthing, and the hydraulic davits on the boat deck facilitate the lowering of the 8-meter tender. Opposite the tender, the ship's car, a Mercedes 380, is stored on a cradle and off-loaded in a similar manner.

Security and practicality are priorities. All sliding doors, curtains, and deck-level windows are electrically operated, and main and boat-deck windows are made of bullet-proof glass. The design also incorporates easily removable wall and ceiling panels for maintenance access.

Interior Design

Darnice III features a compact and elegant lounge/bar area, accessible through sliding doors. This area, adorned with ivory tones and gold fittings, provides onboard hospitality without encroaching on the privacy of the yacht's main areas.

The main saloon, extending onward from another set of sliding doors, offers a spacious environment that can be partitioned to create a separate dining room. This saloon avoids the sterile feel of many yachts, presenting a comfortable and welcoming living area. Carugati of Milan and Arred of Bologna are responsible for the precise joinery and burnished lacquer paneling, inlaid with gold. The furniture is soft and comfortable, with fabrics in subtle tones. Lighting in the saloon is adjustable, featuring dimmer controls and various light sources. A multi-standard TV is concealed in a built-in cabinet, rising smoothly when needed.

The dining saloon, part of the main deck, seats twelve comfortably, with the capacity to accommodate sixteen. The area features a lacquered dining table by Serena of Castenaso, mirrored ceiling panels of smoked crystal, and a deck pantry served by a dumb waiter from the galley below. The saloon and dining area are designed to provide a sense of spaciousness while maintaining functional separation.

Forward on the main deck, the two owner's staterooms are accessible via a wide companionway. The smaller stateroom is paneled in lacquered cherry wood, complemented by soft blue fabrics and a beige leather headboard. Each bathroom aboard is finished in different marble, matching the cabin decor. The larger stateroom features a classic style with a mahogany deckhead and a bathroom paneled with yellow-green Brazilian onyx, including a vibro-massage system and twin porcelain wash-basins decorated with gold leaf.

On the boat deck level, a less formal deck lounge serves as the center of family life aboard. The bar has a green onyx top, and there is a dumb waiter connecting it to the pantry below. This area includes comfortable sitting spaces, another multi-standard TV, and a Hammond organ. An adjacent sheltered outdoor sitting area is accessible from this lounge.

Accommodation

The Darnice III features two owner's staterooms, both located forward through a wide companionway on the main deck. The smaller stateroom is paneled in lacquered cherry wood, harmonizing with soft blue fabrics and a beige leather headboard. The second stateroom boasts a classic style with a mahogany deckhead. The bathroom, featuring yellow-green Brazilian onyx, includes a vibro-massage system and twin porcelain wash-basins decorated with gold leaf. The dressing room features sheet crystal closet doors.

The guest cabins are situated below deck, with each suite showcasing a different decor. The range of styles includes A Turkish-style blue cabin paneled in bleached oak with Portuguese pink marble, a Victorian-style double cabin with mahogany and leather, reminiscent of the Orient Express, featuring white and speckled marble in the bathroom, a beige walnut cabin and a Nordic-style cabin.

She is also capable of carrying up to 11 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
