Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 49'10" beam and a 14'9" draft. The yacht is built over 5 decks with an internal volume of 3,891 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a touch and go heli-pad.

Construction started in mid 2015 with the keel laid under the project name 'FB277'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in December 2018 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2020.

Exterior Design

Throughout Mar, the exterior finish is taken as seriously as the interior. Natural oiled teak ceilings give a more precious feeling in the exterior areas, and all the external tables are made of teak, stainless steel, and glass. The exterior sofas are made of wood and stainless steel, with underlighting in some areas to enhance the ambiance. The dining tables on the main and bridge decks feature backlit onyx, stainless steel, and high-gloss teak, while the exterior aft deck tables can be transformed into bioethanol fire pits.

Mar, a product of the renowned Benetti shipyard, is a blend of superior engineering, cutting-edge technology and opulent design, offering a truly unparalleled yachting experience.

Interior Design

One of the most astounding aspects of the interior is the impressive 2.7-metre head heights, described by onlookers as almost cathedral-like, providing a sense of spaciousness and grandeur. The natural light that filters through the extensive windows creates a captivating interplay of light and shadow, enhancing the beauty of the raw materials used - primarily leather, Ayous wood, and marble, all expertly worked by Italian artisans.

The main saloon features pale grey sofas by the Luxury Living Group surrounding an exquisite coffee table of white leather, marble, and stainless steel. The dining saloon, awash with natural light through the expansive sliding glass doors, features a unique dining table made of wood, leather, and stainless steel, inset with an engraved brass panel, and large upholstered chairs, each displaying a hand-carved crystal lion on the back.

Accommodation

Mar can host up to 16 guests across eight spacious cabins. Seven of these are VIP cabins, each with an average size of 32 to 33 square metres, located on the main deck. Each cabin is equipped with a 65-inch 4K OLED television, and the interiors are designed with unique color schemes, adding a touch of personalization to every space.

The highlight of Mar's accommodation is undoubtedly the master suite, located on the bridge deck. The suite is self-contained, providing an unparalleled level of privacy. It features seating areas on both port and starboard sides, and full-width sliding doors that open onto broad balconies to extend the space further. The study within the suite is furnished with a custom-made desk, Bentley armchairs, and bespoke lamps decorated with tiger's eye gemstones. The bathroom, lined with cool crema marfil marble, adds to the opulence of the living space.

In addition to the guest accommodation, Mar also provides comfortable living quarters for a crew of 34. Except for the captain and first officer, all crew members are housed on the lower deck. The careful planning of guest and crew areas ensures efficient operation without intrusion into guest spaces.

The accommodation on Mar is designed with a focus on privacy, both in terms of space and sound. Strategic insulation within the yacht ensures auditory separation between spaces, providing a serene and quiet environment for guests.

Performance & Capabilities

The yacht is powered by eight diesel generators that are controlled by an advanced power management system. This system ensures minimum energy is used to satisfy power requirements, thereby making Mar an energy-efficient vessel. The generators provide power for the massive electric motors that turn the propeller shafts and also for the yacht's house power as needed.

Mar is equipped with two 200kW Rolls-Royce bow thrusters and a 350hp azimuthing Schottel jet pump stern thruster which assist in maneuvering the large vessel. The yacht also features two pairs of Naiad stabilizer fins which help maintain stability. These technical features not only enhance the performance of the vessel but also ensure a smooth and comfortable voyage for its passengers.

The yacht has a cruising speed of 16 knots and can reach a maximum speed of 18.5 knots. With a fuel capacity of 300,000 liters, the Mar has a range of 5,500 nautical miles at 12 knots, enabling it to undertake long voyages.

Leisure & Entertainment

The yacht's sundeck is equipped with every bit of party tech imaginable, including a California Audio Technology system with 10 speakers and two subwoofers, a setup for DJ decks and four 55-inch 4K SunBrite outdoor televisions. The sundeck's eight-meter pool, vast sunbathing areas, and shaded dining table with a stunning backlit honey onyx base provide a perfect setting for daytime relaxation or night-time entertainment.

Mar's 120-square-meter beach club is a treasure trove of amenities, including a gym, hammam with mosaics and lit by RGB "stars," and a massage room. The beach club's cabinets feature handles made of ammonite fossils, adding a touch of ancient beauty to the modern design.

The yacht can house plenty of nautical toys and accessories, with a well-appointed tender garage for storing her impressive locker.
