Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.5m beam and a 1.98m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 247 GT (Gross Tonnes).
She was completed at Benetti's Viareggio yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners.
Exterior Design
The aft deck features a generous curved seating arrangement, complementing the main salon's entrance through a power glass door. The swim platform at the stern serves as a convenient point for water activities, with tracks for a jet ski and an integrated garage for a tender, enhancing the functionality of the yacht.
Ascending from the aft deck, the upper levels include a bridge deck and a sundeck. The bridge deck offers an alfresco dining area and additional seating, while the sundeck boasts a hot tub surrounded by sun pads and a bar area for outdoor entertainment. The area is shaded by a canvas top, providing protection from the sun when desired.
At the bow, more sun pads flank each side of the Portuguese Bridge, and reliable winches for the anchors are evidence of the yacht's readiness for secure mooring.
Interior Design
The main salon hosts a refreshing arrangement where natural light floods through expansive windows, highlighting the fine hardwood finishes. A power glass door leads into this space, where guests are greeted with a television that retracts for unobstructed views and a staircase framed by glass railings leading to the guest quarters below.
The dining area, situated forward of the main salon, is designed for formal occasions with a sizeable dining table that serves as the focal point. The space is accessible from a concealed side entrance, allowing for discreet service and guest movement.
In terms of interior lighting, Fortis utilizes a combination of strategically placed fixtures to accentuate the woodwork and create a warm ambiance. This includes overhead lighting, subtle accent lights, and natural illumination from windows.
The helm is a showcase of functionality merged with aesthetic appeal. Modern navigation and communication equipment are housed within the traditional woodwork. The helm station is designed to be both operational and comfortable, with a side access door and a settee for additional seating. Adjacent to the helm is a captain's office, where the same level of craftsmanship is evident in the wood finishes and built-in furniture.
The galley, strategically placed to cater to both guests and crew, is equipped with high-grade appliances, ample refrigeration, and generous storage. A side access door allows the crew to move freely to the side decks, maintaining guest privacy. The galley is finished with durable surfaces, and the practical layout is designed for efficient meal preparation and service.
Accommodation
Fortis is designed to cater to the comfort of its guests, providing well-appointed accommodations for a total of 10 guests across its five suites, which include an owner's cabin, two VIP cabins, and two twin cabins, each offering privacy and luxury for passengers aboard.
The owner's suite, positioned on the main deck, presents a spacious retreat with a full-beam layout. The suite features a king-size bed, a dressing table, ample closet space, and large windows allowing for plenty of natural light. An en-suite bathroom, outfitted with a double vanity, stone finishes, and both a rainfall shower and a separate bidet, offers an elegant and private space for the owner.
Below decks, Fortis hosts its guest accommodations, comprising two mirrored VIP cabins and two twin cabins. Each VIP cabin offers guests a comfortable and luxurious stay, complete with closet storage and an en-suite bathroom that includes teak flooring and a bench in the shower for added comfort. The twin cabins are versatile, each featuring an additional Pullman bed, allowing for a flexible sleeping arrangement to accommodate more guests. These cabins also have their own private en-suites, ensuring that all guests experience the same level of comfort and privacy.
The crew quarters are designed for up to six crew members, ensuring that guests receive attentive service and that the yacht's operations run smoothly. Separate from the guests' living areas, the crew accommodations provide privacy for both guests and crew.
Performance & Capabilities
Fortis is equipped with twin MTU 12V 2000 M94 diesel engines, each producing a considerable 1450 horsepower. These engines enable Fortis to achieve a commendable top speed of 16 knots. When it comes to cruising, she is designed to operate optimally at 12 knots, a pace that balances velocity with fuel economy.
The yacht's range is a significant aspect of her capabilities. Thanks to her sizable fuel capacity of 38,000 liters, Fortis boasts an impressive maximum range of 3,200 nautical miles when cruising at 12 knots. This extensive range underscores her ability to undertake substantial voyages, ensuring guests can explore distant horizons in comfort.
