Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 20'1" beam and a 5'11" draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 147 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the twenty-second yacht built on the 88 Skylounge design.

Exterior Design

At the stern, the yacht features a hydraulic swim platform which can be utilized for tender storage or as a launchpad for water activities. Ascending from the platform, guests are welcomed onto the aft deck by a set of stairs. This area is furnished with U-shaped seating around a substantial table, ideal for alfresco dining or socializing. A bar with a sink and refrigerator further enhances the functionality of this space, and a TV is mounted for entertainment purposes.

Moving forward, the bow offers additional outdoor space with an integrated sunbed for relaxation. The anchor system and windlass are neatly positioned, and storage compartments for fenders and lines are conveniently located on each side, emphasizing the yacht's attention to detail regarding practical use and maintenance.

Access to the main salon is facilitated by powered side doors, which reveal an inviting interior designed with expansive windows that allow for ample natural light and views of the surroundings.

The bridge deck aft provides a dining area with an alfresco table and chairs, complemented by a built-in grill and sink, with additional refrigeration units. This setting is suitable for outdoor gatherings and casual meals. Adjacent to this, a hot tub flanked by sun pads offers a leisure area for guests to unwind.

GG is focused on providing a balance of entertainment, relaxation, and practicality, ensuring a pleasant experience for those on board.

Interior Design

A distinguishing feature of the GG's design is the walnut woodwork that extends throughout the vessel, imparting a sense of cohesion and understated elegance. The main salon is appointed with L-shaped seating, complemented by large windows that not only enhance the feeling of spaciousness but also allow for ample natural light to fill the room. Above, a fold-down TV is cleverly concealed within the ceiling, a testament to the yacht’s thoughtful design.

Adjacent to the salon, the dining area features a formal setup capable of accommodating all eight guests. The storage options surrounding the dining table are both plentiful and well-integrated, with woodwork details that echo the craftsmanship found throughout the yacht. A small sink and control panel for AV equipment are conveniently located in the vicinity, along with additional refrigeration.

The helm on GG is a functional area that does not compromise on aesthetics. It is equipped with three large Garmin multifunction displays, a compass centrally positioned for ease of navigation, and both balance and stern thruster controls for precision maneuvering. The helm also features a joystick option and is complemented by Stidd chairs with the Ocean Alexander logo, providing comfort and functionality for the captain and additional guests.

The galley of GG adopts an open 'country kitchen' style layout, which encourages a convivial atmosphere. It is fully furnished with a full-size refrigerator, freezer, and standard appliances, mirroring the amenities of a modern home. The galley also boasts a breakfast area with wraparound seating, echoing the yacht’s overall approach to maximizing the use of space. In every possible nook, additional storage can be found, demonstrating the thoughtful consideration given to practicality on board.

Accommodation

The Ocean Alexander yacht GG is designed to comfortably accommodate a select number of guests, ensuring a personalized and exclusive experience on the water. With a total of four well-appointed cabins, she can welcome up to eight guests for an overnight stay. The layout features a full-beam owner's suite, which is a highlight of the vessel's accommodations. This suite offers an abundance of space, including two large walk-in closets, a dressing table, and a full ensuite bathroom with a shower enclosed in beautiful stone work.

Adjacent to the owner's suite are the guest cabins, each crafted with the same attention to detail and luxurious finishes. The VIP cabin presents a welcoming and spacious environment for guests, providing a serene space to relax. Additionally, there is a double cabin and a twin cabin, both of which maintain the yacht's high standard of elegance and comfort. Each cabin is equipped with its own ensuite facilities, ensuring privacy and convenience for all guests on board.

For those who manage and maintain the vessel, GG is also capable of carrying up to three crew members. The crew quarters offer practical accommodation, allowing for a professional and dedicated service to be provided at all times. The crew area includes a bunk room, a captain's cabin with a double bed, and a shared bathroom with a generously sized shower. The thoughtful layout and design within the crew quarters reflect the overall commitment to quality and comfort found throughout GG.

Performance & Capabilities

GG is propelled by twin diesel Caterpillar C32 Acert engines, each producing a substantial 1600 horsepower. These powerful engines enable the yacht to achieve a notable top speed of 23 knots. When it comes to cruising, GG maintains a comfortable pace at 18 knots. The engineering behind these engines ensures that they deliver not only speed but also reliability and efficiency during voyages.

With her advanced propulsion system, GG boasts a range of approximately 700 nautical miles when cruising at her standard speed of 18 knots. This range is indicative of the yacht's capability to undertake significant journeys across the seas, providing both the luxury and the assurance of extended cruising potential without frequent refueling stops.

GG is constructed with a semi-displacement hull, a design that harmoniously balances the attributes of space and performance. This design offers a smooth and stable ride even at higher speeds or in less than ideal sea conditions.
