The 39.6m expedition yacht Glacial Bear was delivered to her owners in 1993 by British shipyard Brooke Marine. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Terence Disdale, while Burness Corlett Three Quays is responsible for her naval architecture.
Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.2m beam and a 3.1m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 397 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Accommodation
Glacial Bear offers accommodation for up to 8 guests in 4 suites comprising an owners cabin, 1 VIP cabin and 1 double cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 9 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3408TA) 507hp engines, motor yacht Glacial Bear is capable of reaching a top speed of 12 knots, and comfortably cruises at 11 knots. With her 50,535 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,200 nautical miles at 10 knots.
Amenities
The yacht features a well-equipped gym, allowing her guests to keep up their fitness regimes at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Glacial Bear also features a deck jacuzzi for cooling off.
