Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement aluminium hull and a wood superstructure she features a 7.7m beam and a 4.6m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 131 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the third yacht built in the series. Launched in January 2018 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in March 2021.

Exterior Design

Grace III presents an exterior that is nothing short of classic elegance, with a modern performance twist. Designed by the renowned Dutch naval architect Andre Hoek, her form is easily distinguishable by her low profile, long overhangs, and gleaming teak deckhouse, which are characteristics emblematic of Hoek Design's Truly Classic series. The yacht's aesthetic pays homage to the grace of J Class yachts while incorporating contemporary features that cater to today's sailing performance standards.

The yacht boasts a distinctive twin cockpit setup, an innovative design choice made possible by the single deckhouse. It offers a clear separation of space, with the aft sailing cockpit dedicated to navigation and sail handling, housing the mainsheet traveler and a suite of deck winches positioned for optimal access by the helmsman. Grace III has a hardy mainsheet system with a fractional rig installed, giving an advantage to the yacht's maneuverability . This area is sheltered by beautifully varnished teak and protected by a bimini with plastic windows, ensuring comfort and visibility for the crew during all conditions.

Moving forward, the large social cockpit is designed with guest interaction and relaxation in mind. It is free from the sailing gear that dominates the aft cockpit, providing a tranquil space for up to 12 guests to dine and lounge. The cockpit's weather boards are thoughtfully integrated to ensure guest comfort even when the seas turn spirited.

One of the subtle yet significant exterior features is the waterfall margin—a detail where the teak deck curves up to meet the deckhouse and cockpit furniture. This design choice not only adds to the yacht's sleek appearance but also serves a practical purpose, simplifying varnish application and preventing the accumulation of dirt and algae.

The classic lines of the deckhouse are accentuated by arched windows, air vents, and dorades, coupled with stainless beveled gloss handrails on the cabin top, all contributing to the yacht's timeless appeal. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of Grace III's exterior, which skillfully merges the charm of classic yachting with the functionality of a modern cruiser, ensuring she stands out in any harbor or regatta she graces.

Grace III is not only a visual masterpiece but also a marvel of modern engineering and sailing performance. SES Yachts, in collaboration with Hoek Design Naval Architects, has successfully merged timeless elegance with state-of-the-art technology to create a yacht that sails with the grace and speed akin to her J Class inspirations.

Interior Design

Upon entering the asymmetrical deck saloon, guests are greeted with a raised platform to port, featuring seating for five around a high-low table, and an L-shaped seating arrangement to starboard. The strategic use of dark mahogany juxtaposed with bright white paint on upper walls and window surrounds creates a classic nautical allure, while the shiplap overhead and ceiling cornices underscore the vessel's traditional roots.

The deck saloon's design seamlessly extends to form an inviting atrium effect for the lower saloon, where dining to port and a library/media room to starboard provide perfect venues for relaxation or entertainment. The inclusion of a water vapor faux fireplace adds a homely touch, enhancing the aesthetic charm and warmth of the space. Light oak soles, which continue throughout the vessel, contribute to a sense of continuity and openness.

Accommodations on Grace III are thoughtfully appointed, with a focus on creating areas that are both private and communal. Guest suites, including a twin cabin with an extra Pullman berth and a double cabin, are designed with a premium on comfort and space. An additional flexible cabin serves the dual purpose of guest accommodation or crew quarters, depending on the yacht's use, be it family cruising or chartering.

The owner's suite, strategically located aft of the deckhouse for maximum privacy, reveals a generous layout complete with a sofa, vanity or writing desk, and ample storage in the form of twin wardrobes. The en suite facilities are meticulously planned, with a powder room that doubles as a dayhead and a full en suite with shower.

In terms of decor, Modiano's approach was to create an environment that felt like home, with earth tones and pastel fabrics setting the tone for a serene and inviting atmosphere. The choice of materials, such as Colefax and Fowler and GP & J Baker fabrics, echoes the Turkish tradition of hospitality, ensuring guests are comfortable in any setting. The exterior cushions crafted from Sunbrella material further attest to the yacht's readiness for the elements.

The decor's emphasis on texture over color, with a soft palette of taupe, gray, and white in most areas, reveals a refined taste that is consistent throughout the yacht. The owner's suite, however, distinguishes itself with a palette of rust, blue, and off-white, adding a touch of personal style and vibrancy.

The elegance of Grace III's interior is not just in its visual appeal but also in its functional design. All seating has been reimagined to be more linear, departing from the curved lines of the 1930s to align with contemporary tastes. Accessories and lamps, handpicked during a focused shopping excursion in Paris, complement the overall aesthetic, ensuring that Grace III's interior is not only beautiful but also a harmonious blend of form and function.

Grace III's interior design is a prime example of how a modern performance cruiser can honor the legacy of classic yachting while providing the utmost in comfort and luxury, making her a true home on the water for her owners and guests.

Accommodation

Grace III's interior layout has been meticulously crafted to accommodate up to nine guests in five elegant cabins, ensuring a serene and intimate experience on the water.

The owner's suite is a testament to grandeur and refinement, located aft of the deckhouse for maximum privacy. This stately retreat features a spacious layout that includes a comfortable sofa, a vanity or writing desk, and a pair of generous wardrobes. The attention to detail is evident in the thoughtful inclusion of an en-suite bathroom equipped with a lavish shower and a convenient dayhead, which, through clever design, can be integrated into the owner's suite at night.

Further enhancing the guest experience, Grace III offers two additional guest suites situated forward of the deckhouse. These cabins are elegantly designed to provide a welcoming and restful atmosphere. One of the guest suites is a versatile twin cabin, complete with an extra Pullman berth, perfect for accommodating families or additional guests. The other is a beautifully appointed double cabin, offering sumptuous surroundings and luxurious comforts.

The yacht also features a third cabin with upper and lower bunks, which serves a dual purpose. This flexible space can easily transition between guest accommodation for family cruising and additional crew quarters when the yacht is chartered. This adaptability is facilitated by the strategic arrangement of doors that allow the space to be seamlessly incorporated into the crew area or isolated for guest use.

Grace III's thoughtful design extends to the crew accommodations, ensuring that those who operate the vessel are provided with comfortable living quarters that mirror the yacht's overall standard of luxury. These spaces are designed with the five crew's comfort and privacy in mind, contributing to an efficient and harmonious onboard operation.

Performance & Capabilities

Grace III's hull, built by the renowned Dutch aluminum hull builder Bloemsma, complements its sails, ensuring that the yacht cuts through the water with minimal resistance, enhancing both speed and fuel efficiency. Whether gracefully gliding on a leisurely cruise or competing in the high-stakes environment of a Superyacht Cup or a bucket, Grace III is designed to perform exceptionally under various conditions.

When not under sail, houses a Scania Dl13 081M 368kW engine that is not only capable of delivering the required thrust for smooth cruising but also adheres to the stringent standards of the Truly Classic series and MCA regulations. This attention to detail ensures that Grace III operates with the utmost efficiency and reliability.
