Nebula is a 68.2m motor yacht delivered by Astilleros Armon in 2022. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Kirsten Schwalgien Design, while Incat Crowther is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction
Designed around a catamaran aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 15.5m beam and a 2.4m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 2,136 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in December 2021 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2022.
Exterior Design
Nebula's exterior design is a masterful fusion of form and function, embodying both the robust capabilities of a support vessel and the sleek elegance of luxury yachting. The vessel's 68.2-meter length and 15.5-meter beam are thoughtfully utilized to accommodate an array of features that set her apart in the superyacht industry.
A highlight of Nebula's exterior is the enormous 14.5- by 12-meter helicopter hangar, a feature unparalleled in the realm of private vessels. This cutting-edge facility allows the Airbus H145 helicopter to be sheltered from the elements in an air-conditioned environment without the need to fold its 10.8-meter diameter rotor blades, ensuring it is always ready for immediate deployment. The hangar integrates seamlessly into the superstructure, beneath a design element referred to as the "spoiler," highlighting the vessel's innovative approach to combining utility with aesthetic appeal.
Adjacent to the hangar lies a fully certified helideck, which not only serves its primary function but also ingeniously provides shelter for the array of tenders and water toys stowed below on the main deck. This includes a 12-meter custom catamaran, a 10-meter Scorpion RIB, a seven-meter rescue RIB, and four jet skis, all skilfully accommodated without compromising the yacht's sleek profile.
The design process, led by Kirsten Schwalgien of Schwalgien Design, placed significant emphasis on maintaining the vessel's utilitarian integrity while infusing it with a sense of style and modernity. The result is a support yacht that possesses a distinctly "techy" appearance, reflecting the advanced technology and capabilities housed within. This is further exemplified by the innovative use of materials, such as the weathered Corten Steel with its natural orange rust patina, which adds a unique textural element and a pop of color to the design.

Interior Design
Nebula's interior design is a testament to the innovative vision of Kirsten Schwalgien, whose approach to the vessel's interior was to create an environment that exudes both comfort and functionality for its crew, while incorporating a contemporary and fresh aesthetic that aligns with the yacht's high-tech exterior.
The attention to crew comfort is evident in the thoughtful design of the living spaces. For instance, the crew lounge is not just a place of relaxation but also a multifunctional area designed to cater to various needs. It includes a 'phone booth'—a soundproofed capsule allowing crew members to make private calls or engage in focused study sessions. The booth, covered in thick felt, is a prime example of Nebula's commitment to privacy and comfort, offering a retreat without the sense of confinement, thanks to a large window that connects it visually to the main lounge area.
The sundeck on Nebula is another innovative space that is exclusively dedicated to recreation, distinguishing it from other yachts. As a versatile area, it serves as a lounge and an open-air gym, featuring comfortable L-shaped sofas, a yoga and sunbathing area, and state-of-the-art fitness equipment. This space has been designed to adapt to various activities, ensuring crew members can enjoy their downtime to the fullest.
When it comes to the aesthetics of the interior, Nebula breaks away from the mundane with its cool, contemporary grey palette, invigorated by vibrant splashes of orange. This color scheme is carried throughout the vessel, bringing energy and life to the spaces. For example, the corridors feature doors that reach up to the ceiling, accented with strips of indirect lighting, and number plates crafted in fluorescent Perspex acrylic that catch and reflect light in a striking display.
In the crew cabins, Schwalgien has focused on enhancing the quality of materials that the crew interacts with closely. The orange headboards are wrapped in genuine leather, and the distinctive veneer behind the bedheads is a design originally by Ettore Sottsass, reflecting a bold choice that deviates from neutral tones commonly found in yacht interiors.
The design philosophy extends to shared spaces as well, where the quality of finish allows for guest interaction. The vessel hosts just one guest-specific room—the bridge deck VIP cabin—designed with a higher grade of materials and custom-designed furniture that echoes the overarching design theme.
Accommodation
Nebula's interior arrangement is thoughtfully designed to cater to both staff and crew members, ensuring that up to 38 individuals can be accommodated in superior comfort at any one time. This includes six single and two double staff cabins located on the upper deck, as well as eight twin crew cabins and three single officer cabins positioned on the main deck. Each cabin is graced with expansive windows, allowing natural light to enhance the living space and offer splendid views of the yacht’s surroundings.
The cabins are ingeniously crafted to maximize personal space and privacy, ensuring that each crew member can enjoy a tranquil retreat. The cabins feature the widest berths, detailed with bright orange leather headboards and a distinctive veneer designed by Ettore Sottsass, which adds a bold, memorable touch to the interiors. The veneer is not merely a design element but a celebration of individuality, reminiscent of Sottsass's iconic Memphis collection.
The sole cabin designed specifically for guests is the bridge deck VIP cabin, which echoes the contemporary design scheme of the vessel while elevating the level of luxury with premium materials and custom furniture. The VIP suite is an embodiment of exclusivity and elegance, providing guests with an intimate and opulent experience that harmonizes with the rest of Nebula's refined interiors.
Performance & Capabilities
Nebula's propulsion system is engineered for power and efficiency, featuring two robust 16-cylinder MTU engines that propel the vessel to impressive speeds. The all-aluminium catamaran hull, designed by the Australian marine engineering firm Incat Crowther, enables the yacht to achieve a top speed of 21 knots with grace and stability. This combination of raw power and advanced hull design ensures that Nebula can fulfill her primary mission of heli ops support with swiftness and reliability.
With her 298,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. The vessel's design and mechanical prowess allow it to serve as a formidable companion to the mothership, capable of traversing vast distances to support helicopter operations and other logistical needs.
The catamaran form of Nebula inherently offers a stable platform, advantageous for helicopter landings and maritime operations.
