Delivered in 2010, Rule No.1 is a 39.62m motor yacht for sale built by American shipyard Westport Yachts. The yacht's refined interiors have been crafted by Westport Yachts, while her exteriors have been penned by Gregory Marshall.

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.98m beam and a 1.9m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 333 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in late 2008. This was the fourth yacht built on the Westport W130 design. Launched in January 2010 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2010.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Rule No.1 is both functional and inviting, offering numerous spaces for relaxation and social gatherings. The foredeck is equipped with anchor gear and a seating area, providing a straightforward spot for enjoying the open sea. 

The upper deck's exterior aft area features practical elements such as a crane and tender storage. This space also includes a lounge area equipped with a grill and an overhead fold-down TV, making it suitable for casual outdoor dining and entertainment.

On the sundeck, dining arrangements for up to 10 guests are available under the hardtop, serviced by a wet bar and a pop-up TV. The remainder of the sundeck is designed for sunbathing and relaxation, featuring a hot tub surrounded by sunpads at the front and sun loungers at the back.

The exterior main deck aft includes a wet bar that serves an al fresco dining area for 10, with an overhead fold-down TV for added convenience. Dual stairs from this area lead down to the swim platform, providing easy access to the water.

Interior Design

Rule No.1's spacious salon on the main deck is designed for versatility, with areas for relaxation, movie nights, or dining. The space is open-plan, which contributes to a sense of openness and flow.

The galley is forward of the main salon and features a breakfast bar, ensuring convenience for quick meals or casual gatherings. The galley is well-equipped to handle various culinary needs, complementing the dining arrangements available throughout the yacht.

The skylounge on the upper deck includes a wet bar and snug seating. It offers a cozy atmosphere, enhanced by a fireplace and bar, ideal for socializing or unwinding. The main deck salon also includes a dining area that seats eight, providing a space for more formal dining occasions.

Accommodation

The yacht Rule No.1 provides accommodation for up to 10 guests across five cabins. The configuration includes an owner suite, two VIP cabins, and two twin staterooms. The owner suite on the main deck is notably spacious and features a walk-in closet. The guest cabins are designed to offer comfort and are equipped with en-suite bathrooms and entertainment systems, ensuring a restful experience for all aboard. The bed arrangement includes three king rooms and four double beds, supplemented by two Pullman berths to accommodate additional guests if necessary.

Crew accommodations for up to seven are thoughtfully arranged to ensure efficient service. The yacht houses four crew cabins, including an engineer's cabin located aft of the engine room. The remaining crew members are accommodated forward in two bunked cabins, with a dedicated captain's cabin also available.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M90) 12-cylinder 2,735hp engines running at 2100rpm, motor yacht Rule No.1 is capable of reaching a top speed of 22 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 37,722 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,200 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
