Entry-level SD96 makes debut at Cannes Yachting Festival

Sanlorenzo have debuted the new SD96 at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The prestigious event on the famed Cote D'Azur hosts the debut as the model takes over from the previously successful model, the SD92.

With the SD92 selling an impressive 27 units since her launch in 2007, Sanlorenzo already have optimistic feedback in to a potentially successful future for the SD96 too.

Labelled as the new entry-level model of the semi-displacement SD series, the SD96 measures up at 28 metres and is powered by a pair of MTU 10V2000M86 engines.

With a top speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots, the SD96 also features an economy fuel saving mode known as navigation speed at 10 knots.

Remaining on par with the legacy of the brand, the naval architecture was designed by the in house team at Sanlorenzo, but known collaborators Zuccon International Project also contributed with striking external lines.

Exterior living spaces are spacious and minimalist, emphasising the generous spacing provided. The foredeck features some innovative sunpads which are located either side of the bow, also adaptable to be a comfortable seating area for astonishing views.

Upwards on to the upper deck, an al fresco set up for morning coffee or evening cocktails allows guests to enjoy even more views surrounding the vessel.

I chose Patricia because I wanted to add a more feminine touch to the interiors in Sanlorenzo yachts, something which until now had been foreign to the nautical world. And today she is the most sought-after woman in global design thanks to her ability to combine beauty and comfort. All done with a touch of irony and almost poetic sensitivity, with love for all that is glocal and great respect for the hard work of the artisans.

Plush interiors for the SD96 were created by specially selected interior designer Patricia Urquiola. Using a vast selection of curated materials and colour schemes, Urquiola has envisaged an enticing but calming environment throughout the yacht.

The layout of the interior space is seamless for guests to explore freely and overnight accommodation can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests plus five crew.
