New Mangusta Oceano 44 creates “a new philosophy of global architecture on the water”

The 44m (144ft) superyacht is an evolution of the Mangusta Oceano 43 and features two infinity pools, a large sundeck and a long cruising range.

Mangusta has officially unveiled its Mangusta Oceano 44, calling it a “combination of glass, charm and audacity”.

Stefano Arlunno, President of Mangusta Americas, presented the online reveal of the 467GT superyacht which, he said, is a “spiritual successor to the multi-award-winning Mangusta Oceano 43”. Designer Alberto Mancini who, along with the Overmarine Group Engineering Department, is responsible for the interiors and exteriors, was also on hand to give an insight into the design influences of the new yacht.

The 44m (144ft) superyacht was praised by Mr. Arlunno for “creating a new philosophy of global architecture on the water” who then went on to highlight the two infinity pools. The first sits on the main deck and creates an ‘island’ sunbathing area, entirely surrounded by water. The second is on the 104 square meter (1,120 sq.ft) sundeck and offers views across the water.

Other features highlighted were the see-through glass panels mounted flush with the deck that replace steel handrails and bulwarks, being seen for the first time on a yacht of this size according to Mr. Arlunno and the aft beach club with folding side balconies.

The 70 square meter (753 sq. ft) beach club, along with the saloon that completely opens on three sides thanks to huge sliding doors were chosen by designer Alberto Mancini as areas he was particularly proud of. He went on to say the look and feel of the yacht were very much influenced by the style of a classic seafront villa.

Inside, huge sliding doors and full-height windows help connect inside and outside spaces and create the feeling of an “endless yacht”, whilst the main deck master cabin is connected to the upper deck by a large skylight on the bottom of the infinity pool that creates an underwater effect in the Owner’s cabin.

The steel and aluminum tri-deck has a range of 4,500nm at a cruising speed of 11 knots and a top speed of 16 knots.
