Sunseeker’s 88 Yacht set to make its mark

The new yacht carries on from the British-based yard's popular 86 Yacht, with some striking new features.

A completely redesigned interior, new water sports center and a revamped bathing platform are just three of the features of Sunseeker’s new 88 Yacht as it moves closer to hitting the water.

The 26.38m (86.5ft) motor yacht, which was due to launch at BOOT Dusseldorf in January, picks up from Sunseeker’s 86 Yacht and makes several changes to the popular model.

It features a striking exterior profile, with angular hull glazing throughout the top section that allows visibility at all times without dropping the bulwarks. The drop-down side balconies that were a feature on the Sunseeker 86 have now gone and the hull has a dramatically different look. As the demand for colored hulls increases, this option is available to any potential owner if they want to give their yacht a dramatically different look.

The hydraulic bathing platform that can carry the main tender, features Sunseeker’s X-TEND™ transom seating system. This is a chaise lounge that can face rearward at Beach Club level, or can convert at the flick of a switch to facing forward at deck level.

Sunseeker has also created a new water sports center forward of the bathing platform in the aft moulding, to store anything from Seabobs to diving equipment close to the water’s edge.

“The team and I are incredibly excited about this new model. We’ve incorporated innovative design, technology and engineering firsts across the 88 Yacht and the interior finish and fabrics are nothing short of remarkable. This yacht really does have a luxury superyacht feel to it with the practicalities of a smaller model and we’ve really worked hard to make her the very best yacht in her class” said Andrea Frabetti, CEO at Sunseeker.

Other changes to the 86 Yacht see the galley pushed right forward so it is now under the main windscreen and the master cabin moved from midships to an aft layout to improve the flow for guests on the lower deck level and put the master cabin in the widest part of the yacht. A vast flybridge area has a flexible layout and lots of spaces for entertaining.

The entire interior has been redesigned and updated in terms of layout and materials to create a completely modern feel. There is also a real connection between inside and outside thanks to extensive glazing and opening partitions

The 88 Yacht can be powered by either V10 or V12 engines with a top speed of 26 to 28 knots and a flexible cruising speed of 11 to 20 knots. With her Sunseeker hard chine hull she has a range of over 1,000nm at 11 knots.

The 88 Yacht is taking over from Sunseeker’s 86 Yacht, which has sold over 40 hulls since it was launched in 2014. In keeping with other vessels in the Sunseeker Yacht range, the 88 Yacht offers semi-custom options so the Owner can put their own stamp on their yacht.
