Starting life in 2014 as the incredibly popular 86 Yacht, the 88 we see today continues the same great mix of performance, luxury and style. Blurring the line between flybridge and superyacht, the 88 is crew-operated with four superb cabins laid out in an intelligent 3+1 design.
There was also a previous and equally popular 88 Yacht running from 2010-2014, before the 86, another fast-cruising flybridge with a very similar four-cabin layout to its size successors.
The models in this range have been in production for over 10 years, so you can be assured that each 88 Yacht is built on a proven platform of success. The first generation Sunseeker 88 was announced in 2008 and production ran for over 4 years. The second and latest generation Sunseeker 88 was announced in 2019 and saw its World Debut at Boot Düsseldorf the 2 years later.
The latest generation can comfortably maintain a cruising speed of 20 knots via its twin 1,600hp MTU 10V 2000 M96L engines. In terms of range, the Sunseeker 88 has a standard range of 1,300 nautical miles (nm). By comparison, the Gen 2 has comparable performance to its predecessor, with just a 3 Knot difference between their cruising speeds, but it gains an impressive 950 Nm extension in range.
Whether you're looking at the Sunseeker 86 or 2020 88 Yacht model, you will find one of the best and most dynamic 26m cruising yachts around. Both yachts took a different approach to the usual below-deck cabin layout. The 88 has the Owner's stateroom and two guest cabins amidships together, feeling very much a family area. There is then a wonderful forward VIP, easily Owner suite-level, forward.
On the main deck, the salon can be laid out in various ways with the lounge aft and the dining area forward by two full height side deck doors. The flybridge is one of the best in class with a great foredeck lounge and main deck aft. The Sunseeker’s fast planing hull comes with two MTU engine options, twin 1600hp or 1800hp, with a top speed of 28 knots, cruising in the mid 20s.
