On Deck
The Prestige X70 is based on the same hull as the Prestige 690 but the differences between the two models are enormous. The X70 has a much longer cockpit, which extends about 50% of the length of the main deck up to the helm position. The side decks on the X70 are non-existent, which allows for more width in the saloon.
Access to the foredeck is provided by side decks that run over the top of the yacht, a design choice that maximizes interior space. The bow area is large and can be fitted with sunbeds if the owner desires.
Interior
The saloon itself is filled with freestanding furniture, which can be customized according to the owner's preference. Particularly intriguing is the option to install domestic furniture. There is an optional illuminated feature panel across the saloon, which is done in wood.
The galley is centrally located, making it a very sociable area. It is equipped with a Miele fridge freezer, cooking facilities, and various storage spaces. An interesting feature is the built-in Dyson mounted for easy access.
The helm position is located forward, with sloping windows and an access door leading onto the foredeck.
The master cabin is very spacious with a high-quality finish, thick carpets, and ample storage. It also has its own ensuite with a Corian surface.
On the lower deck, there is a VIP cabin, two twin cabins, and the ensuite they share. The yacht could be configured to have one large VIP cabin instead, resulting in a three-cabin layout.
Crew Accommodation
The X70 also includes a crew area with a toilet, shower, bunk beds, and a washing machine. The bottom bunk can be converted to a double bed, making it ideal for a crew couple running the yacht together.
Performance
The engine space houses Volvo Penta IPS-1350s, each producing 1000 horsepower. The yacht's top speed is cruising speed is 25 knots, cruising around 20 knots, with a range of about 350 miles at this speed.
In Summary
Nick was impressed by the customer-focused design of the Prestige X70 and its focus on providing as much space as possible on board.
