On Deck
The Silent 62 Tri-Deck is an 18.9m (62ft) catamaran with an expansive beam. At the stern, there's a lift platform capable of holding a 4m (13.1ft) tender and lowering it into the water. A passerelle extends out for easy access to the quay when stern-to-berthing.
The cockpit area is spacious, protected by the overhang, and offers a sheltered lounging space open to the interior. There is a storage area and a large seating area that remains protected from the wind.
Moving forward, the foredeck is an excellent seating area when underway. Steps lead up to a sunbathing area, partially shaded by the overhang. There is a vast storage space for equipment, with access to bow thrusters inside.
The flybridge has been significantly expanded from previous versions. Instead of a smaller, partially enclosed space, it now features a permanent hardtop and a much larger deck. There are extensive sunbathing areas and customisable seating, dining, and bar arrangements. The helm station here has tiller control linked to the autopilot, with the option of adding a steering wheel.
An optional enclosed upper deck owner's cabin can be installed with panoramic views and an ensuite. The flybridge also houses a large solar array covering the hardtop.
Interior Accommodation
The main saloon offers an abundance of space with large walkways leading to the hulls. The standard layout features an aft galley, but it can be configured differently, including a galley-down arrangement that leaves the main deck as a pure lounge area.
The galley is well-equipped with ample storage, an American-style fridge-freezer, a hob, a dishwasher, and a bar area with a sliding window connecting to the cockpit. There is additional refrigeration space in the lower sections of the saloon.
The lower helm is positioned forward, with a tiller control system connected to the autopilot. A doorway provides direct access to the foredeck. Beneath the floor in this area, the battery banks are housed.
Owner's Cabin
The owner's cabin is naturally the largest on board, located in one of the hulls. It features a large bed, extensive storage, a dressing area, and a spacious ensuite with a sliding pocket door and a full-size shower. Large hull windows provide excellent natural light and views.
For owners seeking an even larger space, the entire hull can be converted into a private suite, incorporating a dressing room or an office. Alternatively, the upper deck can house an additional owner's suite, separate from the main accommodations.
Guest Accommodation
The yacht offers flexible cabin configurations, including three, four, or five cabins. The VIP cabin is spacious, with a dressing area, a wardrobe, and an ensuite with a sink and shower. The hull windows provide ample natural light.
Additional guest cabins vary in size and configuration. One cabin features either a large single or a compact double bed, while another has two single beds that can be converted into a double. Each cabin has its own ensuite with a shower and storage space.
Crew Accommodation
A separate captain's cabin is located in its own section of the yacht. It features a double bed, a small ensuite with a sink, toilet, and shower, and a hanging locker. This space can also be used as an overflow guest cabin.
A small crew cabin is located in the bow, featuring a pull-out bed, a sink, and a combined shower and toilet in a wet room layout.
Performance
Instead of a conventional engine room, the Silent 62 Tri-Deck has two electric motor spaces, one in each hull. The battery system is housed centrally, with emergency steering available. Access to the engineering spaces is provided under the stairs in multiple areas.
The yacht runs on electric motors with a peak power of 340kW each, continuously operating at 180kW. At a cruising speed of 6 to 8 knots, it uses 20kW per side, providing a substantial reserve. The battery bank has a total capacity of 286kWh.
Solar panels generate power for onboard systems, with peak production reaching 10kW in optimal conditions. At the boat show, solar input was measured at 2kW, matching the 'hotel load' used for lighting and amenities. Without air conditioning, this could be reduced to 1kW.
The yacht typically operates on silent electric power for two to three hours daily, supplemented by minimal generator use. Extended cruising requires balancing solar input with generator assistance. The estimated range is close to 2,000 nautical miles, based on its 2,000-litre (528-gallon) fuel capacity. The maximum speed is 12 knots, with an efficient cruising range at 6 knots.
In Summary
The Silent 62 Open takes the brand’s electric catamaran concept and makes it feel more like a fully-fledged yacht. The expanded flybridge is a real win, adding proper deck space rather than a half-measure, and the flexibility in layouts means owners can genuinely tailor it to how they want to use the boat. The solar-electric system isn’t fully self-sufficient for long passages, but for typical cruising - spending a few hours under way and then anchoring - it works well, keeping generator use minimal. The owner's cabin options stand out, especially with the potential for a private upper deck suite, which is unusual on a yacht of this size. The boat’s sheer volume is what impresses most, especially compared to a monohull of similar length. It’s not for speed, but if you want quiet, spacious, and efficient cruising, it makes a strong case for itself.
