Stealing the spotlight at Palm Beach after a thorough refit in 2023, CASINO ROYALE boasts some seriously cool features. From three hot tubs to a beach club complete with a sauna and gym, the amenities are outstanding. Add in a helipad, drop-down balconies, and a private owner's deck, and you've got a superyacht that stands out in more ways than one.
CASINO ROYALE is a gorgeous-looking yacht — with exterior lines designed by Francesco Paszkowski — and also one of the most technically advanced yachts in her category when she was built in 2018. CASINO ROYALE is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating yachts we’ve ever had the pleasure of touring.

Review Video
At 72 metres, CASINO ROYALE is a wonderful example of Tankoa’s expertise in marrying engineering and design. Built on the yard’s 70/72-metre platform, she was launched as SOLO in August 2018 and delivered to her experienced European owner that November, making her the second collaboration between owner and shipyard. Designed by Francesco Paszkowski, with interiors by Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini, CASINO ROYALE has sleek aesthetics with practicality and long-range capability.
Her steel hull and aluminium superstructure were engineered by Professor Vincenzo Ruggiero, with a focus on efficiency and stability. Tankoa incorporated underwater catalytic exhausts, which free up valuable interior space by streamlining the technical systems. This extra space is put to good use across all decks, resulting in generous guest areas and expanded outdoor spaces. These exhausts also keep the air on deck free from fumes - a detail that may seem small but makes a big difference.
Key deck areas are purposefully designed. The aft deck features a six-metre glass pool, framed by low glass bulwarks that open up stunning sea views. On the private owner’s deck, there’s a mosaic-tiled Jacuzzi, shaded lounge spaces, and direct access to the touch-and-go helipad (certified for 4.5 tonnes). The upper deck salon is another example of thoughtful design, with floor-to-ceiling windows, a baby grand piano, a bar, and a bio-ethanol fireplace.
The beach club is another highlight, with a fold-out Technogym-equipped fitness area, sauna, hammam, and a chilled water shower that can go down to 5°C. Guest cabins, all with large windows and sea views, are huge and comfortable, while flexible spaces like the massage room and study can be changed up as needed.
CASINO ROYALE is as much about her technical backbone as her luxurious features. Her systems include CO₂ monitoring and an Environmental Management Plan, allowing the captain to keep emissions in check alongside maximising her efficiency.

Tankoa
Founded in Genoa in 2008, Tankoa Yachts has been on a mission to do things differently. The focus is on fully custom yachts between 50 and 90 metres, and quality over quantity. It’s a boutique operation where every detail matters, from the engineering to the finish. The goal was to create an alternative to the big Northern European yards - delivering the same high standards but with the added flair and flexibility that Italian shipbuilders are known for.
Tankoa’s approach relies on a tight-knit team of experts, including long-time collaborators Francesco Paszkowski and Professor Vincenzo Ruggiero. Every project is built around the client, with the aim of creating yachts that meet their exact requirements, whether for private cruising, charter, or a bit of both.
CASINO ROYALE is a perfect example of this philosophy in action. Her build combined cutting-edge technology with traditional craftsmanship, resulting in a yacht that feels modern but timeless. As CEO Euro Contenti put it, Tankoa’s ethos is about “building yachts with clients, not for clients.” This collaborative approach ensures every yacht feels like a true reflection of its owner, not just another build off the production line.
Aft on the upper deck, you can see that this space is all about versatility. It’s set up as a sun-soaked haven with these removable cabanas, but this area also doubles as a touch-and-go helipad. Moving forward, one of the three hot tubs onboard catches the eye — it has a beautiful shape and moulding. It’s cleverly integrated with a couple of sun loungers on either side, perfect for those who want to bask in the sun while others enjoy the hot tub.
Further forward, you come to a great bar area, nicely shaded, with four chairs facing aft, allowing for interaction with those in the hot tub. Of course, there's plenty of cooling space and storage underneath, making it a really lovely spot for a drink and a chat.
Over in the shaded corner, you'll find a comfortable sofa, sheltered by clear bulwarks, offering a cozy retreat. Next to it, there's a patch of grass for our four-legged friends to do their business in private — very considerate. Nearby, an intimate table provides a perfect spot for a quiet drink or a game of cards.

Sundeck
This is the highest point of the CASINO ROYALE, providing fabulous views and catching the breeze beautifully on a hot day. The big mast is the central piece of this area, marrying all the essential navigation equipment. But it's also a really lovely area to relax.
There's a big sweep of seating around the table that is perfect for social gatherings, and a couple of lovely sunpads for soaking up the sun. Yet more shade is provided by a canopy, with poles that slot into the deck. We've also got Starlink onboard, so internet connectivity for guests and little ones will never be an issue.
There's some clever stuff going on inside the mast as well. On one side, there's a hatch into a technical locker, and on the other, if you pop a door open, there's yet another very conveniently located shower space.
![Casino-Royale-sundeck](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w1440/h755/qh/ca/k9f6cac07/cms/photo/2695930.jpg)
Bridge Deck Aft
Heading out to the bridge deck aft, you'll notice a very nice, comfortable seating area. It’s a shaded and well-protected spot that’s perfect for chilling out away from the sun. This is the primary area for guests to enjoy their meals, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's a great-looking area that's both open and protected.
The views here are great, and even if the weather takes a turn, you can still comfortably dine alfresco. At one end, you’ve got these nice, relaxing sofas, perfect for catching some sun or unwinding after a meal. The clever storage solutions on both sides are incredibly handy for the crew to store crockery and other dining essentials — everything is nice and close to the table.
Storage wraps all the way around, integrating into the design. This deck works incredibly well, making it a real treat for guests.

Foredeck
Accessing the foredeck on the CASINO ROYALE is straightforward with passageways on either side linking to the main deck, making it very user-friendly for guests. For the crew, there are convenient doors into the bridge on both sides, allowing them to pop out easily to this area.
This foredeck area is fabulous. They offer a true treat for guests, and when the yacht is pushing along, it's a brilliant place to sit and enjoy the ride. Additionally, in a busy port surrounded by other superyachts, sitting forward offers much more privacy compared to aft, away from prying eyes.
But let's dive into the real stuff — the deck gear. If, like me, you appreciate big bits of engineering, you’ll be in awe. The scale of the gear needed to run a yacht of this size is quite incredible. The enormous anchor windlasses and twin anchors are storming pieces of kit. The cleats — if you can still call them that when they're this big — are pretty remarkable.
This area also houses some of the fun gadgets. There are three jet skis, with a crane ready to drop them into the water and pick them back out again. A tender garage is also located here.
![Casino-Royale-foredeck-jetskis](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w466/h294/qh/ca/ow-1,d-1/k95797318/cms/photo/2695933.jpg)

Main Deck Aft
Wide passageways make it easy for guests to travel from the forward end of the yacht to the aft end. Of course, this main deck aft area is the first place you're going to see when you come onboard as a guest.
There's a nice, easy staircase up and down into the water, and the tub's all glass, so you really get to see the water. Backlit at night, it's sure to look fabulous. Now, let’s talk about the size of some of the deck equipment onboard. There are winches, bollards, and fairleads that are truly gigantic.
One of the most interesting things about the design of this yacht is that you might expect to have some sliding doors to enter the main deck saloon. Wrong. You just have solid glass, and you actually enter the saloon from a pair of side doors on the side decks.
![Casino-Royale-main-deck-aft-pool](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w1440/h755/qh/ca/k274c52f1/cms/photo/2695935.jpg)

Tender Garage
There's space inside the tender garage for two rib tenders, which are maneuvered in and out using a crane overhead. The crane is rolled along, and connected to a loop on the boat, before it's lifted out of the chocks. The garage door then pops open, the whole thing slides out, and the boat is dropped into the water.
The console on the rib drops down as well, achieving a low air draft to fit into the garage. The headroom is decent, but it's still a tight fit to get a boat in. In the middle, there's water sports paraphernalia for guests to enjoy out on the water.

Out of the elevator and onto the bridge deck — true superyacht territory. It's not a proper superyacht until you've got a lift onboard, and CASINO ROYALE doesn't disappoint. This deck cleverly links to the one below and ascends to the owner's deck.
Heading forward on the bridge, there's a spa suite. This versatile space can also serve as a cabin with its own ensuite bathroom. In its current guise, however, it’s an incredibly nice wellness area where you can indulge in a massage and other treatments.
Moving forward again, there's the bridge. But just before that, there's the captain's cabin. Unlike the rest of the crew who are quartered lower down, the captain enjoys this lovely double cabin right behind the bridge. It’s got a private bathroom, a little study area, plenty of storage, and great views.
Bridge Deck Saloon
Pushing right back on the bridge deck you'll find the fabulous bridge deck saloon. This area is wonderful, set up as a bit of a cinema room. Comfy recliners with cup holders and storage in the armrests make it perfect for a relaxed movie night, with your drink by your side. The enormous TV screen dominates the space, and the decor has been brightened as part of the refit.
Though it retains a somewhat dark motif, the large windows ensure plenty of natural light floods in, complemented by artificial lighting. A lovely little fireplace adds a touch of warmth and ambiance, with flickering flames setting the mood in the evening. I particularly loved the beautiful Bond girl detail, a motif picked out all over the yacht — a really, really cool touch.
Moving aft, you find a more intimate dining table with a beautiful marble top. This area also features a gorgeous marble bar, with backlighting adding to the stylish atmosphere. It's a lovely place for the crew to dispense drinks to guests enjoying this space.
![Casino-Royale-bridge-deck-saloon](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w1440/h755/qh/ca/k85844871/cms/photo/2695938.jpg)
Main Deck Saloon
Ordinarily, you'd expect the saloon on the main deck to be just a thoroughfare, but thanks to the sealed-off glass at the front, you get a lovely panorama instead that transforms this space into a comfortable seating area. It's a perfect spot to relax and maybe wait for the tender, especially when the weather isn't playing nice. This area is served by a handy bar, making it an inviting space to unwind.
Moving through the sliding glass doors, you step into a fabulous lounge area. Here, beautiful artwork adorns the walls, and the incredibly soft carpet underfoot adds a touch of luxury. Of course, there's a big television for those cozy film nights. The main internal dining area has been significantly brightened up. They've tripled the amount of lighting across the boat and added a chandelier, ensuring the space is well-lit. Natural light also pours in from the windows on either side, making the artwork truly pop against the darker interior.
At the aft end of the main deck, you'll find a direct staircase leading down to the beach club, complete with a gym and sauna — another stunning feature.
![Casino-Royale-main-deck-dining](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w466/h294/qh/ca/ow-1,d-1/kd09e522e/cms/photo/2695941.jpg)

Beach Club
The marble throughout the yacht is beautiful, guiding you into a spectacular beach club area — and what a beach club it is. Over to one side, you'll find a steam room and a sauna. The sauna boasts a drop-down balcony; allowing you to slide the door open before letting down the balcony and enjoying the view. It's nothing short of wonderful.
Next is the gym. There's a running machine, a weights machine, and free weights tucked away in the corner. It, too, has a drop-down balcony, making it a real treat to work out with a view and some fresh sea air. Moving through the rest of the beach club, you'll find a bar area and a cozy seating space where guests can unwind after a swim. The sliding doors part to lead you onto the bathing platform, and a feature I absolutely love is the skylights. They let in the light coming through the pool — such a beautiful detail.
![Casino-Royale-beach-club-sauna](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w466/h294/qh/ca/ow-1,d-1/k0f1acb5c/cms/photo/2695925.jpg)

Talking of fabulous views, there's the bridge itself, the command centre of the CASINO ROYALE. On the starboard side, you’ll find a neat little office area, but the real highlight here is the array of screens and controls — there are a lot of buttons to press! With eight upright screens and a couple mounted flat on the dash, all integrated with the Böning vessel monitoring system, you have full control of all the ship systems at your fingertips. The setup is seriously impressive — a proper ship-style helm.
You've got twin throttles, autopilot control, and thruster controls — all the gizmos you'd expect on a yacht of this calibre. It's a bit of a shame, however, that on yachts this size, the wheel doesn’t see much use. This one in particular, with its beautiful wooden rim backed by metal, feels lovely in the hands.
The rest of the bridge is well-appointed with very comfortable sofas, perfect for the crew to sit and keep the skipper company or for passengers to enjoy the ride.
![Casino-Royale-bridge](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w1440/h755/qh/ca/kb14338f8/cms/photo/2695914.jpg)
Owner's Suite
A keypad on the upper aft deck guards the entrance to the owner’s private quarters, and from the aft end of the deck, the first place you arrive at is the owner’s study. This is a beautiful, private space with a quiet ambiance and a glorious view from the desk — a truly lovely place to get some work done. There’s also sofa seating for those moments when you need to take a break.
![Casino-Royale-owner-walk-in-wardrobe](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w466/h294/qh/ca/ow-1,d-1/kbb56e7e7/cms/photo/2695917.jpg)
![Casino-Royale-office](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w466/h294/qh/ca/ow-1,d-1/kc42a24f8/cms/photo/2695918.jpg)
And then, we reach the heart of it all — the bedroom. It is spectacular. The views are glorious, thanks to wraparound glass providing 270-degree vistas, and there’s even glass overhead, with blinds that can be opened to let in more natural light. And what’s really lovely is the totally private hot tub located forward. This deck is cleverly cut off; you can get out through the side doors, but you can’t get around, so very private for the owner.
Leaving the stateroom, you’ll find some storage on this side before entering a walk-in wardrobe. There’s another bureau space and loads of storage for the owner’s clothes, perfect for long, extended periods on board. This area is beautifully arranged, taking full advantage of the elevated position of this deck.
![Casino-Royale-owner-cabin](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w1440/h755/qh/ca/k138b2278/cms/photo/2695919.jpg)
Moving into the ensuite bathroom, the views are nothing short of spectacular. The bathroom features twin toilets, twin sinks, and a large separate shower cubicle with probably the biggest rain showerhead I’ve ever seen. And then there’s the bath — beautiful, with dark woods and marble underfoot. The bath is set low with almost floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a vista that’s a real treat to soak in at the end of the day.

Guest Accommodation
Moving forward down this passageway, you'll find the link between the living area and the guest accommodation. All the guest accommodation is unusually on the main deck. There's a day head conveniently positioned on the starboard side, and then there's the elevator in the lobby area. There's also a sliding door that leads out onto the side deck with steps straight up to the foredeck, bypassing the need to go all the way aft. Internal stairs lead up to the deck above, and through this passageway, we enter the plethora of guest cabins.
There are five guest cabins in total, starting with two identical double cabins. Stepping inside the starboard one, you'll find a beautiful cabin mirrored on the other side. There's a big storage area and plenty of floor space with towering headroom. The TVs are neatly mounted up in the bulkhead, and each cabin boasts its own beautifully finished private bathroom.
![Casino-Royale-guest-twin](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w306/h202/qh/ca/ow-1,d-1/k44ae0253/cms/photo/2695922.jpg)

Heading forward, are another pair of cabins. The interesting feature of these two cabins is the flexibility of the berths. These beds are mounted on runners and can be easily slid apart to create twin beds from doubles if preferred. This versatility is fantastic for charters, offering the ability to configure the cabins as needed. They make lovely doubles but can be adapted to suit different guest preferences.
![Casino-Royale-VIP-Cabin](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w1440/h755/qh/ca/kfbe02b18/cms/photo/2695904.jpg)
VIP Cabin
The best of the guest accommodation is undoubtedly the VIP cabin. This space has a huge footprint with a luxurious king-size bed and an even bigger TV. The detailing is gorgeous, with a leather countertop that rises to create a bureau at the other end. There's masses of storage, as you might expect, and the artwork pops, adding a vibrant touch to the otherwise toned-down decor. The private bathroom features a bath — a nice treat for a VIP cabin — alongside a separate shower cubicle and a toilet with twin sinks opposite. It's a pretty special place to stay.

Crew Accommodation
First up, we have a single cabin. You've got a separate bathroom here as well, which is a nice touch. With 17 crew members onboard, there are plenty of crew cabins, each with a different layout depending on the style of the cabin. Including officer cabins, singles and bunked cabins.
While the captain's cabin is by the bridge, the officer's cabin features a private bathroom, slightly more space, a bigger desk area, and additional storage. The single berth is spacious with a good amount of space around it, and the cabin benefits from natural ventilation with windows that open to let in a bit of breeze. It's a really lovely, spacious cabin.
Of course, it's not just sleeping spaces that the crew require; they need a mess area where they can socialise, eat, and have some quiet time when they're on a break. On CASINO ROYALE, the crew mess is a big space with twin dinettes, lots of storage, and two TVs. This is where the crew lives when they're not on duty. They even have a small kitchen area for themselves.

Galley
This is where the chef cooks up all the food for both the crew and guests. This is commercial-level stuff, and it's way above my grade in terms of what this equipment actually does, but it's certainly a serious environment. Stainless steel is everywhere, and it's a big space. You may have a chef and a sous chef working together in here, moving around easily. It's a full-time, very tough job cooking for both crew and guests, so they need a good space to do that.
![Tankoa-Casino-Royale-galley-Jack](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w1440/h755/qh/ca/kfe74f9bb/cms/photo/2902369.jpg)
Let’s discuss the engine space of the CASINO ROYALE, starting with the control room. The engineers on board have a brilliant setup: all the manual and digital switching they need is right here. They’ve got control of engine power from down here, and the view into the engine room is great.
![Tankoa-Casino-Royale-engine-control-room](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w1440/h755/qh/ca/k1b6b82e0/cms/photo/2902370.jpg)
The top tier of the engine room is where things get seriously cool. The eco spray system stands out in the upper space, and not just because it’s a highly polished piece of machinery. This system actively reduces up to 80% of the nitrous oxide emissions from the exhausts, keeping things eco-friendly despite being such a large yacht.
![Tankoa-Casino-Royale-eco-spray-system](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w1440/h755/qh/ca/kae3f0e2d/cms/photo/2902371.jpg)
Dropping down to the lower level, the sheer size of the engine space is breathtaking. With a pair of Caterpillar 2000 engines boasting 480hp each, CASINO ROYALE is propelled to a top speed of 17.5 knots. But what really helps here is the yacht’s efficient hull shape. With a 178,000-litre fuel capacity, she can cover 9,100nm at 10 knots — enough to cross the Atlantic and back with fuel to spare! Remarkable.
![Tankoa-Casino-Royale-engine](https://image.yachtbuyer.com/w1440/h755/qh/ca/kc6df5b7f/cms/photo/2902372.jpg)
The impressive oil filtration system and the gigantic generators are worth mentioning too. These insulated beasts churn out over 200kW each, ensuring everything runs smoothly even when the load is lower in port. A smaller third generator and an emergency backup also feature, ensuring you’re well-protected against any power hiccups.
In terms of fuel management, the sight gauge on the day tank and the fuel polishing system ensure everything is clean and running efficiently. The air conditioning and refuse management systems are tucked away neatly, keeping the boat cool and fresh, even for extended trips. And, here's a feature you don't often get to see — there are fridges just for rubbish — a real superyacht touch. On a yacht this size there's going to be a lot of rubbish and often no chance to offload it — so these fridges ensure no unpleasant smells hang around.
Our Verdict
What stands out aboard CASINO ROYALE? Well, what doesn't? This yacht truly has it all. The refit has brightened and modernised the art deco interior, creating an inviting and stylish atmosphere. For the guest experience, she is outstanding with her beach club, wellness suite, gym, and sauna. The array of water toys also ensures you can have endless fun on the water.
But the true standout feature, to my eye, is the private owner's deck. Whether you're the owner or a lead charter guest, knowing you can retire there at the end of the day is truly special.
If you liked the Bond theme, we’ve also toured the Westport QUANTUM OF SOLACE and Lurssen's PHOENIX 2 at Monaco — both are definitely worth a look.

Rivals to Consider
When considering the Tankoa S701, it's crucial to acknowledge how it stands up to its rivals in terms of accommodation. The Benetti B.Century 68M offers a slightly more generous setup, accommodating up to 16 guests across 8 cabins, making it a better bet for those who prioritise maximising guest capacity. Its timeless design by Giorgio M. Cassetta, ensures it remains appealing for years to come, adding an extra layer of allure. However, the S701’s master cabin, complete with a his and hers ensuite bathroom, a dressing room, and a study, provides a level of owner comfort that’s hard to beat.
Performance-wise, the Heesen 7000 proves its mettle with a storming performance, boasting a top speed of 30 knots thanks to its twin 5,766hp MTU 20V 4000 M93L engines. This yacht also includes the Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF), enhancing fuel efficiency and making it a remarkable choice for those who value speed and economy. In contrast, the Tankoa S701 takes a more leisurely approach with a top speed of 17 knots, favouring stability and ride comfort over raw speed. It's worth having if the journey, rather than the destination, is your primary focus.
In the realm of unique characteristics, the Benetti B.Now 67M Oasis has a shallow draft, which is very unusual for a yacht of this size. This feature allows them to navigate waters that would typically be inaccessible to larger vessels, providing a bit of a niche advantage. The Oasis Deck™ design innovation further enhances these yachts by seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a truly harmonious environment. The Tankoa S702 Next 70, on the other hand, boasts an impressive range of 6,000 nautical miles, making it ideal for those long voyages where fuel stops are few and far between.
Ultimately, the Tankoa S701 holds its ground amidst a sea of capable competitors. While the Benetti 75M (currently in development) will have the largest gross tonnage of 1,830GT, it will also features a spectacular beach club area, complete with a gym and spa. The S701's design and award-winning features cater to a discerning owner who appreciates a blend of comfort and style.
