Interior

Walking into the boat, m/y Grey, the interior is immediately stunning and has been personalized by the owner's interior designer. There has been a no-expense-spared approach, with remarkable finishes in wood and marble.

Nick was particularly taken with the yacht's avant-garde audio-visual system, pointing out the extraordinary cinema areas. He toured the main saloon and dining area, praising the spaciousness and luxe decor. The lower deck dazzles as well, with its hanging staircase that seems to float in the air and the meticulous craftsmanship evident throughout. The yacht features four guest cabins on this deck, including two VIP cabins and two twin cabins, each with sophisticated AV equipment and impressive marble ensuites.

On the main deck, the main deck owner's cabin was showcased. He was especially fond of the owner's cabin, which featured drop-down balconies on both sides, creating intimate outdoor spaces with stunning views. The owner's en suite, walk-in wardrobe, and attention to detail in fixtures and finishes left Nick visibly impressed.

The bridge is located on the upper deck, which features an array of modern equipment.  For crew convenience, the captain's cabin of high standard is situated right next to the bridge. He noted the seamless crew routing throughout the yacht, allowing for discreet movement and service. The upper deck also included another social area, including a bar and cinema area with a retractable screen and state-of-the-art sound system.

On Deck

The crowning jewel for Nick seemed to be the yacht's sky deck, which boasted a hot tub, a bar, ample lounging space with TV. He was particularly struck by the scale of the yacht, as evidenced by the equipment and facilities available for guests' entertainment.

The upper aft deck features an al fresco dining area with an exquisitely crafted marble dining table that would seat 12. There is also a bar and exterior lounge.

The foredeck features a massive cinema zone and a second hot tub, covered by a tall bimini structure.  In front of the cinema, is a crane and storage area for tenders/Sea Doos.

The yacht's beach club was another highlight, with its fold-down transom, gym setup, and steam room. Nick also pointed out the garage and its launch system for tenders and water toys, keeping the beach club free for guest enjoyment.

Crew Accommodation

The crew quarters included a comfortable mess area, a well-equipped galley, and multiple cabins, all designed to provide the crew with a high level of comfort and functionality.

Performance

The engine room houses the yacht's powerful MAN 1,500 hp engines, providing a top speed of 17 knots, cruising at 14 knots. At an economic speed of 12 knots, a range of 3,500 nautical miles can be achieved. All of the equipment is of very high-quality, such as the watermakers and generators. He noted the immaculate condition of the space and the ample room for maintenance.

In Summary

In conclusion, Nick Burnham's tour of the Tankoa S501 revealed a super yacht of extraordinary caliber, offering luxury, innovation, and meticulous attention to detail that both he and his viewers found truly exceptional.
