The Boat International Design & Innovation Awards 2019, held in January at the prestigious Alexander Girardi Hall, brought together industry leaders, yacht builders, and enthusiasts to celebrate outstanding achievements in the world of yachting. The Judges’ Commendation for Best Lighting Design category highlighted a remarkable array of yachts, each pushing the boundaries of design and performance. The title was claimed by Volpini 2, an entry that truly exemplified the spirit of the competition. The event was both ticketed and invitation-only, ensuring an exclusive and celebratory atmosphere to honour the year’s most notable yachts.
Winner
The yacht Volpini 2 was the winner of the Judges’ Commendation for Best Lighting Design in 2019 at the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards.
The judges all remarked on the sophistication of Volpini 2’s interior lighting. From stair treads that appear to float on glowing risers to ambient light that escapes from pockets stitched into walls, the lighting stood out among all interior entrants. Reymond Langton and Amels deserve kudos for the attention and expertise brought to the lighting plan of the inaugural boat of this series.
