Flybridge Yachts For Sale

Flybridge yachts offer an unmatched blend of luxury, fun, and practicality, making them one of the most popular cruising options on the market today. Their combination of ample deck and interior space, along with fast cruising performance, makes them ideal for weekend getaways or longer voyages.

The defining feature of a flybridge yacht is the raised deck level, positioned above the wheelhouse or salon, which includes the helm for piloting the yacht. Over time, newer models have incorporated even more space and amenities on the flybridge, including additional seating, lounging areas, and options for dining, supported by features like a wet bar and BBQ.

Inside, flybridge yachts offer below-deck accommodations that range from two cabins in entry-level models to four or five cabins in larger versions. Historically, the most popular sizes of flybridge yachts have been between 12m-18m (40ft-60ft), with the smaller, more affordable models being particularly common. This size range strikes a balance between spaciousness and manageability, catering to a wide range of preferences and budgets.

flybridge yacht FAQ

We're committed to making yacht buying easier, so if you can't find what you're looking for just ask.

  • Yes, but not by much. Many flybridge yachts are capable of similar speeds to sports yachts, with 30 knots fairly common.

  • A flybridge yacht might enjoy a slightly larger deck salon and master cabin thanks mainly to more internal height. But modern sports yacht design has really improved on internal volume in recent years creating far less of a gap in this area.

  • A flybridge and sportsbridge look very similar, both enjoying a raised bridge driving position. The main difference is that a spotsbridge is based on a sports yacht design with an aft cockpit incorporating a tender garage, a sleeker profile, with the comparatively smaller sportsbridge adding less visual weight up top, and more speed.

  • Most flybridge yachts will come with the option of a canopy system that will effectively enclose the deck, with full-standing headroom. An improvement on this is an overhead hardtop, with canopies encircling the sides.

  • Most European builders will include a lower helm station to flybridge models, but American yards, especially those with a sportsfishing focus, will sometimes do without a lower helm in exchange for more space in the salon.

  • For the flybridge itself, a good deep deck level is key, well-protected by a surround of coamings to make you feel protected and within the yacht rather than on top of it.

  • If you intend to cruise offshore or spend a week or more onboard, the smallest flybridge yacht you should buy is around 40ft.

  • Yes it is, and the good news is you don’t necessarily have to go to 50ft. Flybridge yachts from around 40ft (12m) are perfectly suited to the task.

  • 10m-12m yachts usually offer two cabins, increasing to three from 14m-18m. At around 20m you start to see four cabin layouts.
