Oceanco Unveils Futuristic 101m Superyacht Lily

Designed in collaboration with Dutch studio Vripack, Oceanco has unveiled Lily, a 101m superyacht concept that reimagines spatial flow with its asymmetrical, split-level architecture as part of their Beyond Custom series.

The new concept was officially revealed at the 2025 Dubai International Boat Show and exhibits a distinctive aesthetic inspired by the natural form of a water lily. The vessel is set to incorporate a design that challenges conventional yachting norms while remaining ready for construction.

A New Design Philosophy

Lily's asymmetrical split-level architecture is a hallmark of Vripack’s approach, prioritizing sightlines, natural airflow, and spatial fluidity. The decks are layered much like the petals of a water lily, overlapping without fully touching. This results in a yacht that is not only visually striking but also functionally efficient.

One of the standout features of Lily’s steel hull and aluminum superstructure is the absence of traditional side walkways and terraces, creating a smooth, uninterrupted profile. The yacht’s one-way glass windows further enhance this aesthetic while ensuring guest privacy without compromising views.

Lateral Naval Architects has provided the naval architecture, integrating cutting-edge sustainability features, including Oceanco’s Energy Transition Platform (ETP), hybrid Dynafin propulsion, and methanol-reforming fuel cells for improved efficiency and reduced emissions.

Uncompromised Comfort and Entertainment

Lily has been designed with an emphasis on shaded areas and natural cooling, recognizing the preference of modern yacht owners for protection from the sun. The aft section of the yacht embodies this philosophy, offering expansive covered spaces where guests can relax after time spent in the water.

The main leisure deck serves as the social hub, featuring a waterside swimming pool, a gym, a wellness area, and a watersports gallery. These amenities are enhanced by an open-air lounge and dining space, allowing guests to enjoy panoramic views in comfort.

Lily’s bow layout is equally unconventional, with a starboard-side walkway and a helicopter landing pad to port, supported by storage for four tenders and a helicopter.

A New Perspective on Interior Flow

Inside, Lily continues to push design boundaries with a split-level arrangement that enhances both privacy and spatial connectivity. A glass mezzanine and staircase link key areas, offering guests a sense of openness while maintaining distinct living zones.

The yacht features six guest cabins located aft, configured in a tiered layout that allows for separate accommodation for different groups of guests. An additional three cabins on the upper deck, an open-plan cinema, and a suspended playroom accessed by a bridge make Lily particularly well-suited for multi-generational families.

At the heart of the yacht, floor-to-ceiling curved windows, treated with one-way privacy film, ensure abundant natural light while maintaining seclusion.

A Secluded Ocean Retreat

Lily’s 450-square-meter private owner’s deck is designed as a sanctuary, offering an elevated level of exclusivity. The stateroom itself is positioned half a deck lower for additional privacy, while the 315-square-meter sundeck terrace includes an open-air lily pond, reinforcing the yacht’s nature-inspired theme.

The owner’s apartment is accessible by a private elevator from the leisure deck or via stepping stones across the pond, creating an architectural feature that blends seamlessly with the yacht’s organic design.

Eco-Conscious Engineering

The motor yacht also introduces a virtual bridge on the upper deck, replacing traditional forward-facing windows with high-resolution cameras and display screens. This setup enhances visibility and operational efficiency, with port and starboard balconies providing a physical connection to the surrounding seascape.

Below deck, the crew areas have been meticulously designed for operational efficiency, featuring discreet access routes that allow staff to move seamlessly throughout the yacht without disrupting guests.

With the ability to switch between diesel and methanol, LILY can operate anywhere in the world without concerns over fuel logistics or supply uncertainties.

Lateral

Lily is designed to meet the demands of eco-conscious yacht ownership, incorporating Lateral Naval Architects’ Energy Transition Platform. The yacht will be powered by a combination of methanol-diesel engines and methanol-reforming fuel cells, making it a more sustainable alternative to conventional propulsion systems.

The inclusion of ABB Dynafin™ propulsion further enhances fuel efficiency and maneuverability, reinforcing Lily’s forward-thinking engineering.

With Lily, Oceanco and Vripack have created a visionary superyacht that challenges the status quo. Combining architectural innovation, sustainability, and advanced technology, the yacht is designed for an owner who seeks to make a statement—not just in luxury but in redefining what a yacht can be.

A New Chapter in Oceanco’s Pioneering Superyacht Portfolio

Lily continues Oceanco’s tradition of groundbreaking superyacht design, joining an elite lineup of imaginative builds. The 90m Luna, launched in 2018, also set a new standard with her futuristic, glass-covered exterior, integrating both privacy and panoramic views—an approach echoed in Lily’s one-way glass windows and uninterrupted profile.

Oceanco’s 117m Infinity exhibits expansive, open-plan interiors with excellent transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces, a design philosophy also seen in Lily’s split-level decks. Meanwhile, Bravo Eugenia, a 109m hybrid superyacht, introduced the LIFE design principle, optimizing fuel efficiency through an advanced hull form. Lily builds on this with Lateral’s Energy Transition Platform (ETP) and the ABB Dynafin™ propulsion system, continuing Oceanco’s commitment to sustainability.
