Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 53'10" beam and a 14'5" draft. The yacht is built over 5 decks with an internal volume of 4,523 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a touch and go heli-pad.

Construction started in mid 2013. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in February 2017 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2017.

Exterior Design

With her distinctive metallic blue exterior, Kaos stands out even amidst the most prestigious yachts of the world. Igor Lobanov's ingenious design approach aimed to conceal the true height of the yacht by introducing "fake decks" in the superstructure, resulting in a vessel that appears strikingly low for her impressive length.

This illusion is achieved through smoked glass panels that run the length of the superstructure, as well as areas of teak decking that, while inaccessible to guests, lend the impression of being genuine deck spaces. Two kilometers of LED lighting under deck overhangs further enhance this perception, ensuring that even in the dark, Kaos maintains her sleek, low profile.

The exterior of Kaos is as complex as it is captivating. The superstructure, marked by intricate curves and combination of materials, was a challenging feat to execute. Despite this, the result is nothing short of extraordinary. The yacht's funnel structure, a personal favorite of designer Lobanov, evokes the feeling of a ship rather than a yacht.

At the aft of Kaos, a 35-square-meter transom door folds down over the water, extending the comfortable beach club which housed a hammam, gym, and large aquarium that peers into the pool above. The yacht also features a fleet of small boats and toys, including twin Wahoo SOLAS rescue boats and a Pascoe limousine tender.

The sundeck offers a private and cozy seating area, with elegant steps leading up to the spa pool. This exclusive perch offers a breathtaking view over the long foredeck. The vast aft main deck, featuring an 8.5-meter pool and a 14-seat dining table, serves as the heart of outdoor life on Kaos.

From a bird's-eye view, Lobanov's vision for Kaos becomes apparent. The yacht resembles a topographical map of an island surrounded by a perfect sapphire sea.

Kaos's interior design is a spectacle to behold, an opulent blend of sophistication and grandeur.

Interior Design

The original design, masterminded by Sam Sorgiovanni, reflected the cosmopolitan and vibrant city of Casablanca, with its unique blend of Arabian and European culture. The chic fusion detailing ran throughout the interior, from the window mullions in the cabins with their bubbled Crystal Caviar insets and stone capitals, to the large round lighting fixtures made by Ben Demmers in the master suite and main lounging areas.

The extensive use of marble, more than any other yacht built by Oceanco, gave the interior a regal touch. The dominant Golden Spider stone on the bridge deck gave way to Iranian white onyx on the owner's level, provided a lightening gradient as you ascended. All marble sat on honeycombed aluminum panels, not plywood, adhering to strict Passenger Yacht Code (PYC) regulations on flammability.

The main saloon was a vast, open 135-square-meter space focused around a large television at one end and a throne-like lounge chair at the other. The ceiling was adorned with golden aluminum ribbons, creating a sense of opulence and luxury. Floors throughout floated in rubber foundations to dampen noise, ensuring a calm and serene environment.

The owner's suite, occupying the 'bridge' position on the upper deck, boasts panoramic views. The custom silk carpets, supplied by Germany's Oliver Treutlein, added an extra touch of elegance, crunching like fresh snow underfoot.

In the owner's bathroom, the walls were clad in Iranian white onyx, providing a stark contrast to the rich marbles used elsewhere.

The interior has now undergone a full redesign in 2020 by Reymond Langton Design.

Accommodation

A unique element is the placement of the owner's suite, which is located on the upper deck, in what is traditionally the "bridge" position. This prime location offers the owner a commanding position with spectacular views, providing a sense of grandeur that is truly fitting for a yacht of this caliber. The master suite has an expansive layout that includes a sumptuously appointed bedroom and a spacious private bathroom.

The yacht can host up to 31 guests in a variety of cabins, ensuring each visitor has a unique experience. The guest accommodations are split across two decks, with the bridge deck offering four VIP cabins. On the main deck, guests have the choice of 10 additional suites.

The Passenger Yacht Code (PYC) has been strictly followed in the design and construction of Kaos, ensuring that the yacht maintains the highest standards of safety and comfort. The PYC mandates that there must be vertical escape routes from every watertight compartment, and Kaos delivers this requirement seamlessly without compromising on design or aesthetics.

Kaos also offers crew accommodation, located in the forward half of the lower deck. The crew quarters have been designed with the same attention to detail and commitment to comfort as the guest accommodations.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (20V 4000 M73L) 20-cylinder 4,828hp engines running at 2050rpm, motor yacht Kaos is capable of reaching a top speed of 18 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. With her 100,650 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,300 nautical miles at an economic speed of 14 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Waterfront living can be enjoyed to the fullest, thanks to a large beach club and connecting swim platform with plenty of space for sitting back and admiring the sea views. The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down and an elevator makes the yacht fully-accessible. Kaos also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
